Andriy Sirchenko, call name “Prymus” was killed on February 17, 2017 during a combat mission in Krymske, Luhansk Oblast.
Andriy served in the OUN Volunteer Battalion.

22-year-old Oleksandr Korniyko was laid to rest on February 18, 2017 in the village of Petrivka-Romenska, Poltava Oblast.
Oleksandr was born in Petrivka-Romenska. He graduated from the local high school, and enlisted in early 2015. He served in the 532nd Separate Maintenance and Repair Battalion.

Oleksandr was killed on February 16 near Avdiyivka (Donetsk Oblast). He was a happy and cheerful guy who loved life and his country.
He leaves behind his grieving parents.

26-year-old Leonid Sazonov, call sign “Boroda” (Beard) was laid to rest in Zaporizhzhya on February 18, 2017. Leonid was a junior sergeant in the 37th Zaporizhzhya Battalion of the 56th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

Leonid was born in Zaporizhyzhya on March 28, 1990. He studied at the Zaporizhyzhya Law Institute, Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
He enlisted in 2014, and took part in the fiercest battles, namely near Mariupol and Shyrokyno.
Leonid died from a gunshot wound on the night of February 16 near Volnovakha (Donetsk Oblast).
He was a funny, positive, and brave man, say his comrades... a person one could always trust and rely on.
Leonid dreamed of having a family, but had no time to get married. He leaves behind a grieving mother who will bury her only son.

Ukrainians commemorate Heaven’s Hundred Heroes massacred three years ago on Euromaidan

During 18-22 February 2017, Ukraine will honor the memory of the Euromaidan protesters killed three years ago in the bloodiest clashes that took the lives of over a hundred unarmed people.


Called the “Heaven’s Hundred,” the name containing an allusion to the Kozak XVII century army Sotnia [“Hundred”] companies who were reinstated as divisions of task forces at the Maidan protests, the list of killed activists actually numbers 107 people. 73 of them, as well as 11 law enforcers, were killed in the clashes in Kyiv on 18-20 February 2014.

In Kyiv, people have been bringing flowers to makeshift memorials to the Heroes of the Heaven’s Hundred on vul. Institutska. Posters of Ukrainian servicemen on Maidan Nezalezhnosti remind about the more than 2,000 servicemen and 10,000 total casualties from the Russian-inspired conflict in Donbas, which started after Euromaidan’s victory in 2014

19-year-old senior soldier Taras Pronchuk was laid to rest on February 19, 2017 in the village of Khotyn, Rivne Oblast.
Taras was killed by enemy bullets on February 16 between the village of Vodyane (Volnovakha Raion) and occupied Sakhanka (Donetsk Oblast).


Taras was born in Khotyn on August 6, 1997. He was drafted into the army in November 2015, and served as a machine gunner in the 36th Marines Brigade of the Ukrainian Naval Forces. He participated in the defense of Mariupol.
He was a brave young man who was awarded several medals for Courage. He refused to leave the combat zone, defending his country in the forefront.
Despite his young age, Taras was widely respected by his friends and comrades-in-arms. Open, honest, smiling, always ready to help...
Taras leaves behind his grieving mother and three younger brothers.

Junior sergeant Anatoliy Farisey was laid to rest on February 18, 2017 in the village of Shepiyivka, Vinnytsia Oblast.

Anatoliy served as assistant gunner in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
He was killed during a mortar attack on February 15, 2017 near the village of Krymske, Luhansk Oblast.
Anatoliy was born in Shepiyivtsi on March 23, 1974. Before the war he worked at various jobs, and often travelled to Kyiv for work. He was mobilized in August 2014 and fought with the 54th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion. He returned home, but in March 2016 signed a contract with the Armed Forces and returned to service.
He was a good and trustworthy friend who loved life and his country.
Anatoliy was not married; his parents died some time ago. He leaves behind a brother.

Senior sergeant Yuriy Shcherbina was laid to rest on February 18, 2017 in the village of Kryzhyk, Sumy Oblast.
He was killed on February 16 by a sniper bullet near Avdiyivka, Donetsk Oblast.

Yuriy was born on July 16, 1974 in the village of Kryzhyk, but lived in Voronyne, Sumy Oblast. He served as a senior operator in the 2nd Motorized Infantry Company of the 15th Infantry Battalion, 58th Separate mechanized Brigade.
He leaves behind his grieving wife.

Maksym Hrynchyshyn from Lutsk, Volyn Oblast, soldier in the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, was killed near Artemivsk, Donetsk Oblast on February 19, 2017.

Maksym was born May 12, 1979. He was called up for military service on August 14, 2014. He served as commander of an anti-missile platoon. After his service, he enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Another bright wonderful young man gone...

On February 20 the ceasefire announced earlier by Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov did not bring quiet to the Donbas. An everyday scenario of pointless harassing fire was applied again.
