I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Silly Loocie / Val passed away peacefully early this morning, about 3 a.m., in her own home, with her family around her.

She certainly put a tremendous fight.
We miss you love.

Sad news to learn of the passing of our close family friend & pretty much family member, Val. She was a tremendous voice for those with #Neurofibromatosis in their lives, and was always one to bring people together. With a gift for poetry & raising people's spirit, no matter what she was experiencing, her words will continue to live on, along with all of the amazing shared moments with someone special who has left us too soon. Rest peacefully, Val.

Rest in Peace Silly Loocie. We all love you & you are now Cancer free.

For everyone who had their life touched by our dear friend Loocie, please take a moment to remember her. She truly was a special person. She could always put a smile on my face and she always made me laugh. I will miss her very much. Rest in Peace Val. You will be missed.

I only knew her through SC, and was blessed by this online friendship for these many past years.
Interesting how one can forge such a special bond through just words - and yet, we all know it can - as we all have been touched by Loocie's prolific and wonderful poetry! I feel fortunate to have known her in this small way, because she ended up having a very big place in my heart.
I cried buckets before I could compose myself to come here and and at least say something coherent...

May her memory be eternal; we mourn the loss, we celebrate her life, and are reminded by our gratitude for it.

I am so sorry to heart our dear friend whom I got to know and came to love through this thread has passed away. I know you are in a better place now free from pain. I would miss all the great poems. You fought really hard battle. Rest in Peace my dear friend. I can't stop thinking about you. You will be missed by many you have touch many with your message. My heart is very sad I am in tears as I sit here to write this. Your family will miss you .I will say a prayer for your family to get through the days ahead. You were sure loved by your SC family

My heart sank when I read Hicks and H Team's words. Val will surely be missed by everyone and my tears don't justify the suffering she has gone through over the months and years. I am truly saddened today as we have lost a great friend with a heart that was truly genuine. Her poems made me smile or cry, but I always wanted more. Raising a glass to our friend, the suffering is gone and you can now truly RIP!
