^^ That player finally apologized for taking her medal off. It is like I said before some of these high strung competitive athletes feel that when they " win " the Silver in a final match game they are essentially the " losers " of that match.
Still, it was disrespectful of her and showed poor sportsmanship. As Canadians we are generally better than that.
Gosh I watched the Snowboard Big Air thing! Our guy ( Sebastien Toutant) won Gold!! Do any of you remember when he was this crazy 13 yr old on the scene? I remembered the story but was unaware HE was the guy! ha ha
Hmmmm, does that mean we have 28 medals now?

Travel advisory: Germans in Canada should exercise a high degree of empathy. Be nice, don’t gloat, give hugs, buy rounds of hot chocolate.
Just imagine how you would feel if Canada beat us in soccer

Kim Boutin (@kimbtin) will be Canada's flag bearer at the closing ceremony of the Pyeongchang Olympics
Boutin won three medals in individual events here, the only Canadian athlete to do so in these Games and only the fourth Canadian in history to reach that total.
Boutin won silver in the women’s 1,000 metre event and a pair of bronze medals in the 500 and 1,500-metre events

@Natalka -the women's ski cross event had a few tumbles! One Canadian went down and had to go to hospital. Happy for the Canadians placing first and second.
I also watched some of the women's artistic iceskating event. Tumbles there too. Yes there were two tall competitors as well.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

The Olympic stadium will be made redundant soon:

Radio Canada had a segment where Jean-Rene Dufort? went to see the two Quebec technical staff in charge of the projectors at the stadium. Huge equipment. Their room was like a storage unit.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

That was a party, the closing ceremony. Noticed a closeup of the South Korean president showed a glass globe on the ledge in front of him-well before the "gift" part of the show commenced. Classy send-off.
Have to admit those LED panels in the seating areas were well-used during the show. Oh, and there was K-pop!2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Caught the last part of the closing ceremonies for the Paralympic Games. Don't know the band that performed but I recognized Ailee (took awhile for her name to come back-she was in Dream High 2 drama a few years ago). She's American and can sing R&B style songs beautifully plus many other styles.
I had a problem with the Chinese dance troupe number-the lead dancer was using a regular wheelchair, not a sport wheelchair, to start off the dance segment. To me that portends that maybe Paralympians in Beijing have not caught up with the 21st century yet (and I could not miss the symbolism of the red scarves either-Community Party). Might be a matter of minds still stuck in the 20th century.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
