The bromeliad is a Ms. Amaryllis and she has a chorus of open tulips (most of them) backing her up. The two daffodils continue to bob into week #2 of bloom.
Lots of tree limb cutting going on in Ancaster. Two of four big fallen limbs or trunks were cut up and mostl removed as I walked to the library. There are lots of branches down from Friday's wind action.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Not much in the way of flowers is growing in our yard (northern BC), but my garlic is coming up and I have a bunch of 'milk jug greenhouses' along the side of the house with little cabbage, chard, parsley, and marigold seedlings on the go. The Creeping Thyme and Wooly Thyme (both ornamental) are turning green quickly and will soon have little pink flowers covering them. I love the thymes, and so do the bees!

Looking for advice.
We have red ants in my big raised garden bed. I grow a variety of vegetables and want to get rid of these ants. We have young children and 2 cats that also play in the yard. Suggestions please.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

Not sure about specific advice for dealing with the ants in the garden. I'd advise that your young helpers and you wear gloves when picking produce or working there. As long as they are outside and not biting...
I have not had success using chalk to keep carpenter ants out of our house and dried bay leaves don't deter them. Black pepper did not really phase them and I have yet to sprinkle cinnamon to deter them.
The thing is-if the ants are killed, you don't have as many insects to help your garden break down substances in the soil.

One clump of pink peonies are open. Had some red and white lilies open and bloom then drop off within 5 days. Three other peony bushes have already had their bloom parades.
Dusty miller plants have not bounced back from my March or April trimming i.e. no white fronds growing. It's like the plants are dark for good.
Tall green stalks for blueish flowers to emerge soon have shot to three foot high status.
One rose bush has grown branches but not buds. Have to see if the frothy egg white mass has spread on it and other plants. Have not seen it before.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Well, after several years, my false indigo is finally blooming. Pathetically, but it's trying.

Have one small off-white snapdragon plant in bloom and two bunches of yellow-centred white flowers (not certain they are daisies). There's a succulent plant that has bolted in that there are 4 inch projectiles in the centre of the usual hen and chicks.
Two pink roses on two different tiny bushes in the backyard have bloomed this week!
Also have two lilies in bloom.
White clover rules the lawn.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
