Everything has its drawbacks. But the tree looks amazing! By the way, what sort of apples is on this tree? If the apples are delicious, why throw them away? You can eat it.

just a quick fyi re eclipsa and veggie seeds

I purchased carrot seeds last week at Cdn Tire. I thought, what the heck, I'll try to submit the receipt to eclipsa for .25 cent cashback and it got approved. Note, I took a pic of the seed package beside the receipt and it took an extra day for approval
Might be a good deal for cheap cucumber seeds this week or other fruit/veggie seeds throughout the year.

i hear you, the dandilions have gone crazy in my neighbourhood, dont know what to do to control it. Since certain sprays were banned, it's a nightmare.

Currently growing on my balcony: kale, lettuce, mint, thyme, basil, dill, onions, tomatoes, zucchini, chives, hot peppers, marjoram, & parsley! Everything is doing really well except the zucchini plant. I don't think it liked all the heavy rain storms last week.

Without DH and his dedication ( and amazing green thumb ) each and every year I would never get to enjoy all the " garden eye candy " that blooms. Each shrub, bush, and flower taking their turns to come up, shine and then move along to make room for the next joyful flower.
    I am truly blessed.

Oh, @walkonby , those flowers are absolutely amazing!! I'm assuming perennials; I'm not very good at recognizing flowers, lol...our lilies aren't in bloom, yet, I always look forward to one in particular we picked up years ago: Wild Horses. I just fell in love with it.
Gorgeous, congrats to your Hubby for the work he's put into it all but I do suspect you have a hand (green thumb?) in it, also!!
And yes, you and I are both blessed.

@walkonby your lilies are beautiful. My mom also has a small bush of lilies but they are a dark red/purple.

Kind of strange to post about it but almost one and half weeks ago, I emptied the bags of manure left behind from Mom's spring gardening to areas of the lawn needing dirt and some enrichment. Have been pleased to see about half of the areas have started sprouting grass or some green vegetation, but animals have been pawing other spots thinking they'll find grubs or other tasty morsels. Might have to take a hoe around and try to level things but I don't have extra soil or manure to replace "lost" material.

Have seen a few dandelion leaves clumped here and there but few actual dandelions. September is really summery still and yet, fall's two days away and the local fall fair is on next weekend!

Some flowers are keeping their blooms going. The chrysanthemums have not yet flowered or I have not checked closely!

The backyard offerings are adorably small but strangely rewarding when I pick beans and snip zucchini's.
The weight for the beans was 14 ounces, I mean isn't that adorable? The tender lettuces need to be picked again too. I only took 2 of the 3 zucc's.
Going to let that 3rd one in the pic and the other 4 in back grow a little larger. The morning glories always bloom when I'm NOT out there, so today
I hopped out early enough to catch them open.
