I purchased 4 OLG giftcards for $25 each which totals $100.
promo says you get a $5 SDM card for every $25 spent.
Cashier took $20 off my total so I only paid $80. I did not receive a SDM gift card for $20.
Back of OLG giftcard says “use for payment of lottery products and services” so I think it is valid for all types of lotteries from scratch tickets to Lotto Max to Poker etc.

Great deal! But I guess I missed the extra offer (I just read their flyer, it was for the past weekend, right?)
Can you use the $10 gift card to purchase other gift cards?
Does their policy specify if this is a one-time offer? What if we have multiple transactions - do they offer a $10 coupon with each transaction?

The $10 gift card is usually a $10 paper coupon for $10 off your next purchase and I know it lists restrictions on the back, so I'd assume no to using it for other gift card purchases.

The AM site says it's normally 1 AM per $10 spent in-store, presumably including GCs since the 110 seems to include 10 earned at this normal rate plus 100 BAM earned at 5 per $5.

Actually with MOST stores, it does NOT include gift card purchases, unless of a special promotion. Anything's possible, but under normal circumstances, I would expect not.

That's what the AM site says for Shell irregardless of what applies at most stores, which aren't relevant anyway since I posted about a promo that is only available at Shell.

So it's completely clear, this GTA-only, Shell-only promo will end on Sunday. In addition, I learned it can be YMMV; one station out of three I visited refused to let me buy GCs using my credit card to pay for them.

Me to. I gave up after the second station. I keep a low withdrawal limit on my debit card to minimize fraud risk and I never carry cash. So it was more work than it was worth imo

Too bad for you. I was luckier, only being unable to pay by credit card at one station out of three. I ended up buying a few hundred dollars' worth of GCs, specifically ones for which I haven't seen comparable deals in some time if ever, primarily LCBO. At 110 AM per $100 plus cashback from my credit card, I couldn't resist getting enough GCs to take us through the summer and into the fall.

I find it odd that they wont let you use a credit card to pay for GC's ?!
in 2018, what kind of foolish logic is that? I pay for just about EVERYTHING with my credit cards.

It's only a guess, but maybe the promo makes selling GCs unprofitable. Indeed, this seems the most likely reason why Shell is ending the promo after two and a half weeks when it was originally supposed to run for three and a half months. Factor in that some station operators are self-employed, not Shell employees, and it doesn't seem out of the question that they would refuse to sell GCs on credit as a way of selling fewer GCs at a loss.
