Darn it! I didn't take a photo and all of the pizza is gone now. We went to Metro on Saturday and ordered their 16" pizza, which was on sale for $9.99, including 3 topping choices. (Of course, there were special taxes on it because it constitutes take-out food.) I choose double pepperoni and sausage as my 3 choices, and they were generous with them! It was a meat-lover's pizza, and DH *did* love it. Interestingly, they have dropping ground beef off the list of available options; I suspect it is because of how the price of ground beef has sky rocketed. The local pizza place still offers it but charges double for this topping.

@wendymac if it wasn't for the Mega Miles Air Miles promo we never would have known about Metro pizza. I was so pleased at how fresh it is, and the ingredients used are high quality. I had asked for bell peppers and they placed beautiful chunks of red pepper on it, not like the green ones you get with most pizza places. I love when they go on sale too!

@walkonby I'm pleased you got such a good pizza. I am a big fan of the freshness, too, and making it on the spot is to Metro's advantage because anyone who orders has to kill 20 minutes 'til it is ready. Gee, I wonder how people kill 20 minutes in a grocery store? When they are on sale, the Metro pizzas are the best buy out there for their size and toppings.

My Mediterranean Chili Recipe ...DH's 2nd favorite tho', God knows, the man is fickle and changes with the wind. Happily, only when it comes to food.
1 lb. sweet Italian sausage, minced
3 lbs. ground beef
1 12oz. tomato paste
2 tbsp. minced garlic
1 1/2 ox ground cumin
2 oz. chili powder
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
salt to taste
2 tbsp basil
2 tbsp oregano
2 cans drained chopped tomatoes
1/4 burgundy wine...hold rest in reserve
Squirt of lemon juice
1/4 cup fresh dill chopped...but I use the dried and make it less
1/4 cup fresh parsley...ditto
2 can black or green olives chopped
2 cans kidney beans (optional)
Cook onions and garlic 'til transparent in olive oil. Crumble meats, add, drain. Lower heat and add everything else but olives. Simmer as long as you wish. Longer is better. 15 minutes before serving, put in olives.Last edited by wendymac; Tue, Jun 4th, 2019 at 12:51 PM.

If meat was one of the food items restricted on the Dr. Poon plan I would have bailed months ago.
Thank goodness lean cuts of most meats are a go!
My first meal today at 1 p.m. was 6 pan fried lamb chops ( those small thick ones with the bone ) I trimmed ALL the visible fat off first before searing both sides in the cast iron pan...diced up 2 baby cucumbers in a bowl and mixed in a tblsp of mayo with lots of black pepper. I'll call that a salad?

I was at my daughter's place in Caesarea.
Made pork tenderloin on the grill, with Singapore noodles from BlueSky in Pickering
