did BBQ up with charcoal on Canada Day!
First item was a roast...( 2 long bones thick ) On the top rack, cooked that slow.
Later tossed on large lean sausages ( Metro and Food Basics sell these, they are not greasy at all ) and some thick steaks, last on the grill went the baskets of veggies.

I saw Freshco had the sausage on this week for $5.99, picked up a few packs of the hot for the freezer.

I have heard some really good things about the meat from The Trading Post in Port Perry but have never been myself. I have a few co workers that only eat Pork from there.

All their meat is excellent quality. I always pick up a couple of pounds of their bacon, so much better than grocery store water soaked stuff.
They often have deals on their frozen foods, which are very good.
If you are looking for different sauces, they are a unique destination. Tons of stuff to browse.

If you want a fresh turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas, just sign up. They are outstanding.

Company tomorrow night, so started a pulled pork today.
Taking advantage of having extra mouths to feed.
NF had 1/2 loins on for a good price, I froze a small piece for me to do something with later.

I would have preferred shoulder, but the loin was much cheaper.
Just have to cook it extra long...

The pulled pork came out great, one guest said it was the best she ever had, wow. (She's young, LOL)
I have tried so many recipes over the years, marinating, injecting, blah, blah, blah...
Cook it in beer and dry onion soup mix with a good lather of your fav. BBQ sauce and some extra mustard. I also add a generous portion on cumin.
Slow cook at least 12 hours. Refrigerate the liquid and skim off the fat. Mix with your BBQ sauce and sauce up and re-heat the pulled meat.

No pictures, we were too busy drinking fine beer. My other guest is the Head Brewery at my favourite local Brewery!

    CHEERS!
