Budget clean up after the weekend.

Credit cards paid. Enbridge and Power bill paid.
Money moved to savings account for youngest DS driving school and new car fund
Still have to do returns to Mark's and Costco. Will be about $400 credit so need to get on this ASAP. (Costco on Fri/Sat for sure since we are that way for the night)

PC Pts at $779 and $20 (redeemed $30 on the weekend)

Plan this week. No spending really. May go to Walmart to get a few grocery items but will use my jar of change to pay for it at the self checkout (may stock up on the perogies on for $1.97)

Just took a look at my main PC pts account.
I'm sitting at $779 in points as of today. I redeemed $140 in pts for the month of January. Feeling pretty good about that!

Last day of the month budget clean-up.
    Nothing exciting really.
Transferred money to the Christmas account and savings. Bills all paid. Not shopping/spending. Just a few fresh groceries here and there.
Have a Feb Birthday (oldest DS) I have the cologne sampler set from SDM, boxers, a top, paid for him to do his final Drivers license test (he passed) and will write him a cheque for some fun money.

End of the month is here. Requirement for investment return in financial plan for the year is 3%. Already hitting 2.4%. Of course it can change but a nice start to the year.

Added $$ to the budget to donate to Australia via WWF

Property Tax bill was in the mail I picked up today. 1st payment due Feb 20th. I already paid $600 towards it in Nov and Dec so at least I don't owe much. It appears it has really gone up this year. Curious to see the final billing later on this year.
Water bill has a $67 credit. I paid $60 on it and put $15 on my Scotia Bank Visa to build the credit up on that. (I budget $75 per month for Water and Sewer bill)
Groceries- As of Feb 1st I have spent $3.87 Cash and $30 in points. Trying to use up stuff and not buy much. Will see how the month goes. I need romaine so will see what else I need and redeem points.
Guess I should print off tax receipts soon....ugh tax time. It isn't that bad really, pretty simple but still tax time.

    Budget Clean up.

I redeemed $170 in PC Pts during the month of Feb. (Groceries and some misc. items for trip South- snacks for the plane etc/ Chicken meal deal at RCSS etc)
Transferred $100 into the Christmas account.
Transferred $40 into the boys clothing account.
Paid $75 on the Water and Sewer bill.
    Put money in savings.

Waiting on my replacement Credit card. I lost mine the last day of my trip. Which is good as it made me now really not spend this past weekend lol. Once I receive it I have a return of $200 at Mark's and around $250 at Costco so that will pay the balance on my card with a bit of a credit.

My PC pts sit at $708 on my main card and $20 on 2nd card. I don't anticipate many PC pts this month as I am having a Frugal March so not much spending.

    Missed my March update.

Just shopping for groceries but still eating from the freezer mostly. Redeeming PC pts for most shops so points are down under $500.00.

Keeping things the same and just paying bills and not spending.

Took advantage of the 25% reduction in RRIF payments for 2020. Sat down and planned the budget for 2020 and 2021 and determined that we could handle the 25% reduction in RRIF payments and still have enough to live off until the end of next year. Never was happier to have a financial plan. Partner already had a solid financial planner and she reviewed what we wanted to do and confirmed we could, so off we went.

With self-isolation for the past almost 7 weeks now our ccard bills are just the basics (internet, cell phones, etc.) so that will be much much less than normal.

We have a full freezer and are doing weekly meal plans to use that up and still add to it when deals. Loblaws has had some good deals surprisingly.

So quite happy with how things are looking for the moment.

Getting the occasional payments from survey companies helps also.

Have never used Checkout 51 or Caddle but am now looking to do that also.

I am only gaining ground on the technology front and having done research on one affordable printer, have ordered one plus the special cable that is not part of the printer supplies in the box. Thought it was time to spend the money now in case the public library does not re-open by Memorial Day weekend (May 25). Discontinued model-I will not be spending any money on warranty upgrades.

May spending plan includes one month of Disney Plus to get my Star Wars viewing dealt with and to see (I assume it will be available in Canada) the May 4 special behind the scenes of The Mandalorian set. Rest of money for month means tight control on spending as basically other money has dried up for two months, with only a few coupons to help extend the money. Also intend to send $30 to a shelter (April food savings) as part of the #MoneyMasterClass fee for following the Twitter year-long program.

I cannot believe how vital having a debit card is now that many things are available via online shopping only. No going over my monthly bank transaction limits for May (went over limit for April).
