which grocery store you get your in-store coupon from mostly ?

I'm new to couponing too, I've gotten lots online but I would like to start checking stores too. Anyone know which stores are the best to hit up here in Halifax?

My Safeway has the most...I find rarely does Superstore (except their own) and my Walmart Supercenter Rarely has any except the odd one in the Household Products (ie: VIM/Lysol, etc..) aisle.I feel so cheated...LOL

Sobey's and Metro have tons. Each week on Friday, I go through all the grocery flyers and make a list of what I need from which store, then throughout the following week I hit each store and coupon collect while shopping. I don't specifically go to Sobey's or Metro just to get coupons, but grab them while I am there for something that is on special. I am new to couponing, but and starting to love it. Each week is a new challenge to see what I can get for less.

So do you just go in and grab the coupons and leave? or do you buy something. I feel strange getting coupons without buying, and I hate the prices at metro and sobeys. It almost feels like im stealing. I see the most coupons at metro. Never at no frill, walmart, or zellers.

I do sometimes if I'm already in the area and have some spare time. I've never thought of it as stealing because the coupons are from the manufacturer, not the store. I don't recommend doing it in a small store though. I did once and got followed by the employees .

Do you generally have to hunt through the store to find coupons? The only store we have here that carries coupons at the front door is Extra Foods...and they are only for their own store and usually just for that week. Sobeys carries coupons that are good all over? I have a friend who works in Sobeys...maybe she'll score me some!!

I can certainly attest to that. I live in downtown TO and there is this BIG HUGE Loblaws (flagship store) that never has any coupons! I guess their target market is not the coupon type of people. The first time I used coupon (my $10 Olay to buy gift sets after Xmas), the cashier had to call the manager because she didn't know how to enter coupons. The manager said they don't see a lot of coupons in that store.

So I guess that particular Loblaws just don't bother with coupons at all...
BTW, all Loblaws stores are corporate-owned, no franchise.
