@cath007 Thanks for telling us how your pets are doing. I am concerned for you but also for your father. Does he know what may have contributed to his blockages? He's had two other kinds of surgery; I am rather hopeful that some other intervention could prevent more surgery.

@coupon girl can you follow up with a doctor familiar with women's health issues? Just to make sure there is no overlooked cardiac issue for your age bracket. Women and heart concerns are not often given the right attention when brought to healthcare practitioners.
Any chance you may have aggravated a nerve in your arm aka cellphone elbow? When you put pressure downward on an elbow repeatedly (window sill, table, bus seat handle) and some nerve squawks enough to create significant pain in the upper body or along a shoulder down to wrist when you woke up?Last edited by Ciel21; Sat, Jul 12th, 2025 at 11:12 PM.

Ceil -thanks for your concern i had a procedure on tuesday of last week i was put under,I was lying on my left side i got the internal bruising from that (doctor even showed me the small bruise on my left side).I dont own a cell phone ,hubby does .Plus i have 4 ecgs the last week a cat scan and my heart is fine ,now my chlesterol i have to bring down .I have to eat healthier.
I must say 6 days later my breathing is better, the pain is going away, sleeping better .I even slept for an hour yesterday afternoon.I will not drive all week as i am on pain meds for 7 days .
I have a very good younger doctor and i have an appointment over the phone with him in may.
That is why i told hubby to call an ambulance to our house thursday as women do present different than men when having a heart attack ,better to be safe than sorry as heart disease runs rampant in my family.
Thank you everybody for your concern .
I am on my way to feeling better.,plus as a bonus i have lost 4 pounds from not eating much this past week and due to the procedure i had.lolLast edited by coupon girl; Mon, Apr 22nd, 2024 at 07:46 AM.

Good Morning Everyone,
Loving the sunshine today, I need some motivation.
The bathroom ceiling does look better than I thought it did when I first finished so I am happy about that but it will never be 100% until I paint it. I am still going to order the Bathtub cleaning brush as there is one corner I need it for right now plus moving forward anything I can do to make it easier. I admit I have been putting this off because I knew it was going to kill my shoulders.
I finished the hallway deep clean, we went through the random bins of stuff, found some travel stuff I can use if I have to travel for work. Mom took some of the samples she wants to try. The rest went in the garbage. The hallway has been swiffered and mopped.
I came down to clean out the fridge and take the garbage out and this is where my day got side tracked, the only thing that needed to go in the fridge was some old Lemon Juice I did not use because I did not make the dish I squeezed it for. But I knew there was an apple in the bag that needed to go, as I was going through the bag I noticed a lot of apples had marks around the core on the outside and I became worried they were going bad from the inside out, so I peeled and chopped 5 lbs of apples, soaked them in salt water and put them in the fridge.
Now in typical Ashley fashion the brain started spinning, as I tried to figure out what to do with all of these apples, first I thought Special Apple Pie but I was planning to make a crustless Strawberry Pie as I have Strawberries to use up. I could make my One Bowl Apple Cake and take it work but I was going to make Lemon Ricotta Cookies to take to work because I have Ricotta to use up. At the end of the day I got no baking done as I ran out of time.
I took out the garbage and was going to take out recycling but there are no bins because people do things like shove a TV box in a bin or fill bins with items that are not recyclable which I do not get, literally 5 steps away is a dumpster just put it in the dumpster instead of taking up bins. I will take it once they are emptied later this week.
We had a late lunch so I just made Naan Pizzas for dinner last night. Tonight I am not sure it depends if they do the procedure on Mom today or not. It is Dental so if they do it, dinner will probably need to be soft.
I will need to stop somewhere on our way home to grab some milk, as far as shopping goes I need to go to Wal-Mart, Food Basics and No Frills before the flyers change.
Happy Monday Everyone.Last edited by SassyAshley; Mon, Apr 22nd, 2024 at 08:44 AM.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Took Mom to her appointment the she did not get to see the Surgeon, it was his assistant so she goes back next week.
Stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home and grabbed:
4 x Mushroom $0.94
4 x Tuna $0.97
4 x Chai Tea (20 Count) $2.49
2 x Buns $3.49
Also for me, I grabbed two balls of yarn, I needed a light pink and a deep deep purple. Found them both so picked those up.
Then into Food Basics for:
1 x Lemons $1.88
2 x Strawberries $1.88
1 x Limes 1lb $3.99
2 x Heavy Whipping Cream $2.97
1 x Milk
Still need to run into No Frills but that is for another day.
Dinner is in the Oven I had an open pack of Ravioli so made Ravioli Lasagna which also used some of the Ricotta I need to use up, still have enough to make either Muffins or Cookies.
I also have an Apple Cake in the Oven, I will take half of it to my meeting this week for the branch to have. Might drop the other half off at another location.
I still have the bigger of the two containers of apples still in the fridge. Will figure that out later.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Day!
Everyone has been so busy/has so much going on. Sending good vibes to all of you.
Had a nice weekend. Went out for dinner with my friend Friday night. Saturday spent the afternoon/night at my sister's. My sister, niece and I baked from scratch Cinnamon Buns. And then my sister made us a nice dinner. Sunday morning my other niece popped by to drop off pancakes she picked up while out for breakfast and told me about some online auction I should check out. Then we decided to go to a local liquidation store that sells lots of Costco deals/ returns. We found leggings on for $5.99 each of 4 for $10 so we found 2 for my niece and 2 for me and I love them! I may go back next time but get a smaller size since I never owned leggings before and since they looked so small I thought I needed a larger size. Great to put on at home for my work day.
Yesterday I stayed close to home. Did some running around. Grabbed groceries. Made taco meat and homemade burger patties.
Shredded cheese/lettuce for the tacos. I won't cook anything today... we can eat the leftovers. I will take chicken out of the freezer tonight and make chicken and the fresh veggies I have for dinner tomorrow night.
My brakes are very squeaky and realize it was over 4 years ago when I had them done last so they are due! Called for an appt. and drop my car off tomorrow night so they have it Thursday to work on. So I need to clean my car out today (take out all my $/change etc)
Have a great day!Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Tue, Apr 23rd, 2024 at 10:06 AM.

I'm looking for suggestions on where or who I should book our flights to USA. I usually book our flights through expedia. Is it cheaper to go to an agent like Transat? There's a Transat location near where I live. I'm not looking for a vacation package just flights from Canada to USA. TIA

Purdee-I would look on expedia for prices and then book direct with whatever airline you choose. That way should there be any issues you can deal directly with the airline for a refund etc should it be required.

@Purdee just be aware if you fly out of Toronto Pearson, some airlines won't have meals due to food supplier's employees being on strike. I actually noticed a customer berate one airline for an April 21 flight without requested meals and I pointed out the strike is a thing...
Social media accounts have been alerting people to the situation prior to the strike plus there were reminders to bring extra food and drink but I assume passengers have to spend after security at the vendors available.
So glad that certain TTC workers did not walk out yesterday on strike. The union and TTC reached a tentative agreement that has to be voted upon.Last edited by Ciel21; Sat, Jul 12th, 2025 at 11:14 PM.

Found an abandoned Safeway container of cut watermelon and another of raspberry yogurt dip on a picnic table outside Tim Hortons, with best before dates 24-04-24, so I ate them as a nice snack.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.
