It's not being selfish; It's a matter of taking the 'car/equipment' in for a necessary 'oil change'.

Lol. Nope. Those were gone long ago.
For me this is a ... mental exercise to revisit and just make sure my frugal is in check..

Left over night 1 x a week... easy savings,
    Eat from the pantry

    Things of that nature

@coupon girl , My Bro and Sis-in-Law gave me a trip to a spa with them for Christmas, we will sit down probably next week since we are all in Head Office for a meeting and pick a day we will all head out and spend the day at the Spa. I am so excited I cannot wait.

@Giseledta , I love you challenge and you are right it is more of a "challenge" when all of the extras have been cut.

Whenever I see articles like what frugal people do not buy or how to cut costs without trying or something along those lines I always read them and usually all of the ideas or suggestions we already do. But it does make something like setting aside "extra" money more of a challenge.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Well it looks like I am spending my day making appetizers. Last night as I was going to bed Mom said "Oh, what are we doing about dinner tomorrow night, it is New Years we always do appetizers." Honestly, she had not said anything so I was just going to make pizza but it is all good, I have a plan.

I did look online this morning and thought about running the store but then realized I can just make it home with stuff we already have. This may also help me clean out the freezer. My plan is:
Chicken Strips (I have a few like 4 or 5 left in a bag, so cook those up and get rid of the bag)
Mozzarella Sticks (Will make these Homemade, I thought about running to grab Cheese Sticks but we will make the Mozzarella we have work)
"Deep Fried" Pickles (I will make these in the Air Fryer so not really deep fried, I did think about going to get pickle spears but I buy the Costco size pickles I will make those work)
Potato Skins (I have a bunch of small russet potatoes I bought super cheap, they were called Castaways I will make Potato Skin Boats)
Perogies (I just have these in the freezer not sure if I will actually make them if I do the potato Skins)
Dill Pickle Salad (I have a kit I need to use up)

Only thing I am missing is Spring Rolls but oh well. Also I figure if I make it all myself I know exactly what is going into it although we will be eating a chunk of cheese it won't have any "extra" that we would get the frozen version.

I also want to make another batch of Cinnamon Rolls, will keep 4 out for tomorrow and freeze the rest as part of my Homemade Freezer Restock I plan to work on. I like the idea of having them individually frozen so we can pull them out instead of making a whole batch and eating a whole batch.

I think I will write a to-do list to keep my organized and get to work as there is some other prep I also want to get done today.

I suppose many of us could try cutting back on car trips a bit in the New Year to save on gas.

Good Morning! Sunshine and blue skies here!

Work till noon today and then I am going to go out and about and enjoy the sunshine and pick up a few groceries (DS needs bread for his sandwiches for work when her returns Thursday and Friday). Will try and pop into the gym for a bit too but I think they may close early today- I forgot to check out the holiday hours.

Last night I wanted to bring in the recycling bin so I bundled up and went for a walk. Once I got started I kept going and even when it started raining. I felt so much better when I got home and slept like a baby. So needed that fresh air!

Hope you all have a wonderful New Years Eve!

Honestly, I have given up on that one.....we do try to make it as efficient as possible. But , dang.

That and hanging laundry. I feel bad for saying that. But it's a timing thing. Sigh.

Morning didnt get a good nights sleep as the girls kept me up a bit in bed tossing and turning .

Up early but Ashlyn woke up early at 7.30 and started crying her head ached ,then we came upstairs and she was sick in the washroom and all over me as i went to help her .

Plus a friend was coming by the same time (her son moved down east in dec)

Called my daughter-in-law at work and she said maybe ashlyn had a bit of migraine but she couldnt get off.Now we are taking just Cara to the eye specialist and son will meet us there.

I am tired ,but still willing to help out.

I freeze my Spinach and use it in smoothies.
