Thank you everyone for your comments in the January thread regarding my clothing and now I won't feel alone. I am like most of you, if Mom needs it, I buy it, granted on sale but I never think twice but when it is for me, I second guess myself.

Also, I know it was just seeing it on paper, I am not over budget and yes, I have a section of my budget for me, I do not break it down into section but it is just for anything I buy just for me. My clothing, my bullet journal supplies and anything else I want but we do not need for the household.

I think my biggest issue is we almost had a no spend year in a lot of areas including myself, I was just so busy I did not buy stuff for myself and then at the end of the year between Black Friday, Cyber Monday & Boxing Day I made a lot of purchases which I hate doing because I do prefer to make smaller purchases throughout the year. I think it is just a mental thing for me, when you see a large chunk of money spent it always make me gasp a little, although it really wasn't that large of a chunk.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Well this week did not go as planned, I fell coming into my house Thursday night after working and well I broke my face, not really just my nose. I fell face first into our front door which I will now need to replace. I was coming up the stairs I had my work stuff and groceries and I went to grab the door handle and started going forward and just could not stop and my face hit first.

I am very lucky it could have been so much worse, somehow thankfully I missed the glass and smashed it off the metal and even my broken nose it is a small little fractor, they did not have to reset my nose, exact words were live your life. But, the face is not looking good, I am all scraped up my lip also messed up I missing a huge chunk of my lip and today the bruising came out which was kind of startling when I woke up. Honestly, those deep down thoughts I want to hide in my house and do not want anyone to see me.

I was a mess after it happened because a few neighbours saw me fall and then Mom had to deal the groceries I was bringing in and we had to call Dad to come take me to the hospital because Mom couldn't and I hated being the center is attention. I know that sound weird but that is me, I just kept apologizing and telling everyone I messed up for falling.

Then when I got home from the hospital my health anxiety started coming out, I started to worry they missed something, it was worse than they said, I was going to make it worse by rubbing my nose by accident. Even yesterday I kept telling Mom I was going to make it worse and then this morning now that swelling and bruising has come out under my eyes and my one eye is really bothering me I woke up this morning thinking "oh no they missed it there is something wrong with my cheek." I just have to say this is such a weird feeling.

But also, I am so thankful for those who have helped us, we needed to move our car yesterday as they were doing a clean up plow, we have neighbours offer to move the cars for me. I was able to move the cars but I could not dig/clean Mom's car off so they did that for me so I could just drive it out.

Also at work I have postponed my trainings, right now we will start again Tuesday but even then my boss said Monday if you feel like you can't that is fine, push it back.

But of course Thursday night, not only was my health anxiety spinning but then I started thinking of all the things I need to get done but cannot do. Even though they said "Live your life no restrictions." (except crackers and cookies those would be bad for my lip) I have found I cannot bend or pick things up so I cannot do laundry or put away the groceries, clean up the pantry, the list goes on and on, heck I could not even empty the dishwasher yesterday because I cannot bend to empty the lower rack. Looks like there will be a little bit chaos.

I feel horrible because now Mom has to do things she shouldn't be doing but I cannot. Like yesterday she needed something from the basement, I can do the stairs but I had 2 bags of potatoes sitting there to go down, I cannot take them down but Mom had to move them so I could go down the stairs because I cannot not bend over and I cannot lift. I had to tie my shoe yesterday and that was too much.

Looks like it will be a low key not get a lot done of type of weekend but I do have some work to do. I was not at my best yesterday and did not get a few things done. We are down this morning for an upgrade but hoping this afternoon I can go in and make the changes because come Monday our 2 plants become 1 so I need to tell the system.

    Happy Saturday Everyone.

SA I hope you feel better soon. DD and BF made it halfway back to Whistler yesterday and a lady coming towards them on a curve lost control and hit the drivers side. They rolled down an embankment several times and landed on the roof. They both climbed out the window in the freezing cold. DD was able to walk up the hill but BF needed to be stretchered out. BF had a badly bruised hip, a slight lung puncture and got stiches for a cut in his hand, DD is fine. The hospital in Vernon even let them bring their dog into emergency-kudos to them. I assume she went in the ambulance too!
The lady who hit them had to be extracted and had a broken ankle. She said she lost control and admitted her tires weren't very good-thanks a lot!!

It seems that the airbags and seat belts no doubt saved their lives but caused some minor injuries. We are very thankful. DD will be shopping for another Mitsubishi Eclipse cross as it seemed to protect them pretty well. They will be speaking with a lawyer.

BF's mother got an automatic crash alert from his phone and alerted us-for awhile we did not know if they survived. The phone also alerted emergency services. I encourage all of you to set up this alert and double check your winter tires please.

@SassyAshley I tripped in front of a police officer just before Christmas and hit the concrete sidewalk with my face and fractured my left hand. Luckily I didn't break my nose, but had a massive headache for a week. I was so embarrassed that I turned down calling the paramedics and went home, and saw my doctor 2 days later. I was weak from my chest cold and went to look at a accident and also buy grapes. Note to myself - mind your own business next time lol. I would have been ok if I just bought the grapes

@lizzie bargain glad to hear that everyone with be ok. Even with snow tires I have seen people spin out. Tires help but also knowing how to get out of a skid/black ice is very important. Good luck with the insurance company.

@lizziebargain that must have been so terrifying. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery. I hope it’s easy to sort out with insurance. @SassyAshley that must have been awful, maybe try icing your nose to reduce the swelling and don’t be surprised by the black eye that could show up. @coupongirl we had that same heavy snow, I cleared it last night because DS2 had and early shift today, but now I need to go clear what the snowplow left behind.

GULP!! Oh my Gawd! Those posts by @SassyAshley and @lizzie bargain had my head spinning and my heart pounding. Slips, trips, and falls are usually on my mind every day.
Another new phobia I've perfected by seeing danger everywhere. For you Sassy, I mean what else can ya do? Your Mom's physical limitations are of concern but you are now
sidelined and your injuries will take time to heal. If I was there I'd hug ya BUT that might hurt too! lol

lizzie, a motor vehicle crash is what it is. We've probably all had experiences that were minor, but that one sounded very scary. It's the lawyer/insurance/paperwork slog that
can often cause even more stress. I hope both your DD and her BF come away with a satisfactory outcome as well as healing from their injuries.
THIS IS NOT the way sc is supposed to start February. I hope for the best with all the members here.

I was just talking to my daughter. Apparently the dog rode in her own ambulance and the paramedic fed her cheese. Hilarious! Must have been a slow day. Luckily they had slowed down to 60 due to snowy roads-or who knows how many more times they would have rolled. It happened just before Sicamous where the road is very windy so lucky they did not land in Mara Lake!!
They are covered in blood and have to find where the car was towed so they can get their stuff. His brother is enroute from Whistler to pick them up. Boy I am reminded that life can change in a flash!
Apparently the emergency alert also goes out to EMS-by satellite if necessary and gives the accident location. I sure learned something new.

With everyone (literally) slipping and falling into the Chinese New Year, I will share a (sympathetic) fall. I slipped and fell on my butt, while crossing the street. Luckily(?), I had a packet of soft guava paste in my left back pocket that helped cushion the fall, when I landed on it.

Hope that everyone else who fell makes a speedy recovery.
