Yesterday was the 76 birthday of my dear father. He went to restaurant with his familly for lunch today and had a great time.
My relation with him is still sadly difficult
He tried to quit smoking but It did not work.
But he say he smoke less...Not sure about that....
For the moment he made the choice of no surgery on his leg.And dont walks to try to at least be better.I am deceived by this
    Overwhelmed too
But what I can do...It is his life not mine...

    Good Morning Everyone,
So not a fan of springing forward, kind of a shock to wake up and see 8 am on my clock only to remember "oh ya, we lost an hour last night."

I really need to do some prep today but I have to be honest, I have no ambition today, but I also know if I don't do it, it will only make this week more of a challenge.

I am having one of those weeks where I do not know my schedule. Some stuff that was supposed to be sent to me on Friday wasn't which puts me in a holding pattern.

I was going to make myself Fajita Bowls for the week but thinking I might pivot and do Greek Bowls instead if my Garlic Garlic sauce is still good as that needs to be used up. I also want to try this Curry Yogurt Chicken but I am not sure what to serve it with. Maybe I will just focus on ingredient and have everything in the fridge so I can throw something together quickly.

Kind of sad Easter until the middle of April this year, I could really use a 3-day weekend right now. I know I could book a day off and make a 3-day weekend but with so many trainees it just wouldn't be a good decision right now.

Today is going to be one of those days due to time change I feel like I have lost time (because I have) so I need focus and get to work. I will start by cleaning out the fridge, pulling some stuff out of the freezer and go from there.

    Happy Sunday Everyone.

@cath007 Happy Belated Birthday to your Dad Hope you were included in the dinner celebration. Sometimes when our love ones think the know what’s best for them we just have to make peace with it . Remember you have to take care of you . You are a good daughter to want what you thinks is best for your Dad health wise. He has to want to quit smoking before it will work .

Hugs @cath007 about missing Stella and Eve getting older. It’s so hard when our furbabies get older and sicker. It’s going to be 4 years in July that we had to say goodbye to our sweet Harley and not a day goes by I don’t think of him and miss him terribly. My heart goes out to you

The frugal march to get the onions and carrots at F Basics failed! Also the half and half cream at GT was out of stock! Poor DH, I had sent him out just to get a handful of items from 3 different places. Even handed him my Moi reward card, wrote him a note! lol. Early tomorrow morning I'll have to redeem my NF raincheck at the same store it was written at for a 10lb. bag of yellow potatoes ( $1.99 ).
The NF I was at this morning refused to honour another stores raincheck. Sigh.

I picked up my 1st Christmas gifts today, but don’t be impressed because I rarely shop before December. I need new running shoes and so with the 20x at sport check off I went. Found shoes I like on sale and they had the Saxx boxers on clearance. They are beyond stupidly expensive but my sons love them so they are a favourite Christmas item. Today I was able to get 2 packs (1 holiday pattern) for 32.00 and I make sure to swap for all the right offers and I earned 27.09 in triangle points with my shoe purchase. I also redeemed all my Air Miles as there is a 20% back promo so I used almost everything on gift cards. Then gas was cheap at shell and I needed a car wash so with all my AM offers I earned another 125 miles and a free car wash, so glad I looked at my receipt as I would have missed that. I bought the 5 pack of washes as we have 3 very dirty vehicles and earned 75 miles for the car washes. Not sure how but happy to have them.

I managed to find some ambition and get some stuff done.

Still can we make next weekend a week long??? Just give me a little extra time to catch up.

I was about to go and start my cooking when I remember Mom asked me to do laundry, so a quick so shower first so I could throw my towels in.

I made a batch of Rice because I am going to have Greek Bowls this week for lunch. Originally I planned on Fajita Bowls but remembered we had some Garlic Garlic sauce so quick switch to Greek Bowls to use up the Garlic Garlic.

Marinated a bag of Chicken Tenders in Herby Greek Yogurt marinate, oh my gosh so good yum and baked those off.

Made Lemon Ricotta Muffins for my breakfast this week, it was hard to find a muffin recipe that did not call for Milk (on our last bag) or Yogurt (still cannot find Greek Yogurt at my Costco).

Cooked off a 1/2 pack of bacon to go with the Tomatoes I bought, thinking Club Sandwiches one night for dinner.

Made a double batch of Chocolate chip cookies, some for us, some for training this week and some for Dad.

Chopped up Lettuce and Cucumbers to go in my Greek bowls and sauteed some Onions and Peppers to add as well as I discovered my peppers needed to be used up. I also Crumbled some Feta I can sprinkle on top.

There are a few things I did not get done, still need to make a batch of peanut butter brownies for Dad to go with the cookies. I want to make some Chex Mix nuts for snacks (I am trying to use up the ridiculous amount of Walnuts we have in our freezer, they are not my fav) and I need to slice up some apples. Will try to get this all done tomorrow.

Almost had a moment, when I went down to get the stuff to cook I discovered my freezer door was open a sliver, it did not close correctly yesterday. Good news was I lost a bag of cranberries everything else was still frozen. I think it is because everything is in bins it was insulated but we will be triple checking the door going forward. It could have been so much worse and I am so thankful it was not, that is where most of our meat is.

Will need to grab Milk tomorrow and I have a mental block about picking up bandaids, we don't buy them often but I think we have 3 left, I need to remember to also grab these.

Going to catch up on my budget and then I think it is time for bed or least to curl up in bed with my book.

oops, it's late now, oh well. Yes @SassyAshley you certainly made the best of that second wind. DH informed me that the guys ( he calls them " the kids " ) at his work have dropped hints that they would love him to bring in another batch of Rice Krispie Treats! ha ha I've made them a few batches here there mainly to use up any bags of marshmallows that we have in the storeroom ( left from summertime ) and of course no one here eats Rice Krispies as a breakfast cereal so the squares were an easy route.
Family sized General Mills cereals earning 3,000 PC points for each $10.00 spent, has me thinking I'll make some soon.

Close call with your freezer! We had a similar incident a while back, nothing was lost as I just happened to go downstairs in the back room to discover the stand up freezer's door was not been pushed shut tightly. Now the 3 of us double check that it's tightly closed after we take something out.
That loss of defrosted meat and other items would have been costly.

Good Monday Morning! We have sunshine and a longer day woohoo! We have to be getting close to Spring right???

I was able to head out of town on Saturday. Visit and stayed for dinner at my sister's. My brother in law kept telling me to sleep over (he likes hanging out ) but there was snow in forecast and never know what we would wake up to so felt it was safer to drive home Sat night. All was clear Sunday but happy I went home so I didn't have to stress about it.
She made pasta for dinner and sent me home with a huge container. And all the leftover garlic bread with cheese. It was great for DS to have after his hockey game last night.
So the BLSL chicken I took out of the freezer will be dinner tonight. I have rice ready to cook up soon. Thinking I will do a can of black beans too. (we have so many) Sassy's greek bowls sound like a good idea so I will make a mismash bowl with leftovers for tomorrow.

I didn't make it out to the other side of town at all on the weekend so will head out there today so I can pick up some Rye bread and whatever I think we need.
My shopping was very minimal this weekend- eggs was really all we needed.

Now to get this work day out of the way!

    Have a wonderful day!

Did the early morning duty to grab the sale cream from GT, the sale onions from FB and redeem my raincheck for 10 lbs spuds at NF.
Then I discovered that marshmallows are NOT made in Canada! Well, I mean normal ones aren't. There is a Company out West that
makes fancy flavoured ones for an abhorrent price. No thanks.
I had already bought 2 x Family size of the Rice Krispies ( ALSO made in USA, grrr! ) to get the 3,000 PC points back, but now I am not
sure if I should just buy the cheapest marshmallows, enough to make this last batch for DH's co-workers.
Honestly, DH was just trying to do something nice and it's caused me some patriotic betrayal. ha ha

    Good Monday morning all.

It's off to a not positive start. I have an appointment at the end of April for a follow up to my surgery and need an ultrasound and X-ray prior to. I called this morning and the earliest appointment is May 6th! That’s wild. I’ve never had to wait that long before. I’m on the cancellation list so fingers crossed it happens before my appointment.

Another amazing sleep last night so I’m feeling like a totally different person. The limited HRT I’m on is making me feel closer to normal than before ( in the sleep department anyways). It’s like talking a sleeping pill except you don’t feel any groggy side effects. Just goes to show how much our bodies depend on the balance of hormones!

Dh and I are just relaxing today. I did a full day (8 hrs minus 1 for a memorial service I attended online) of DEEP range cleaning on Saturday so there is literally nothing else to do. I mean walls Swiffered, baseboards/ doors vacuumed and washed, all laundry done. You name it I did it.

Time to figure out some partial vacation days.

Dh had a great frugal moment when he changed our phone plans. Left Telus ( we were not under contract anymore) and switched to Public Mobile which is owned by Telus and saved HUGE! We are saving $1,704.00 for the year! He’s so prof himself and so am I. The student is learning and may surpass the teacher…..not quite
