RCSS had a 5-pound basil turkey chub one day before 'sell-by' date. It wasn't discounted and was priced for $3.60/100g. I asked them to reduce it to their normal $0.94/100g, but they only went down to $1/100g. Still bought it.

At the No Frills, where I only shop a couple of times a month, I was lucky enough to go in when they were clearing out chicken drumsticks for 99 cents a pound. Although the locusts were already swarming, I managed to snag 5 packages, just over 10 lbs total, which I knew I could fit in the freezer without starting to over-load it.

RCSS had a 5-pound chub of oven-roasted turkey on sale for $1.90/100g, but best-before date was tomorrow. So, I asked the staff to reduce it to their normal price of $0.94/100g
They would only reduce it to $1/100g. I still grabbed it, along with two others. My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

I just picked up a sirloin tip roast for $22 at No Frills. I cut it in half and will cook in the crockpot-that will be plenty for a meal plus leftovers.
