We grew up in the 40s-50s-60s. We studied in the 50s-60s-70s.We dated in the 50s-60s-70s.
We got married and discovered the world in the 60s-70s-80s.We ventured into the 70s-80s.
We stabilized in the 90s.We got wiser in the 2000s.And went firmly through the 2010s.
Turns out we've lived through 9 different decade,m .2 different centuries and 2 different millennia.

We've gone from the telephone with an operator for long-distance calls to video calls to anywhere
in the world, we've gone from slides to YouTube, from vinyl records to online music, from handwritten
    letters to email and WhatsApp...
From live matches on the radio, to B & W TV, and then to HDTV. We went to Blockbuster and now
we watch Netflix. We got to know the first computers, punch cards, disks and now we have gigabytes
and megabytes in hand on our cell phones or iPads. We wore shorts throughout our childhood and then
long pants, oxfords and Bermuda shorts. We dodged infantile paralysis, meningitis, H1N1 flu and now
COVID-19. We rode skates, tricycles, invented cars, bicycles, mopeds, gasoline or diesel cars and now
we ride hybrids or 100% electric. Yes, we've been through a lot but what a great life we've had!
They could describe us as "exennials" people who were born in that world of the fifties, who had an
analog childhood and a digital adulthood. We're kind of Ya-seen-it-all.
Our generation has literally lived through and witnessed more than any other in every dimension of life.

It's our generation that has literally adapted to "CHANGE". A big round of applause to all the members
of a very special generation, which are UNIQUE. TIME DOES NOT STOP It's a task that we do every
day. When you look: it's already 6 in the afternoon; when you look: it's already Friday. When one looks:
the month is over, when one looks: the year is over, when one looks: 50, 60, 70 and 80 years have passed!
When you look: we no longer know where our friends are. When you look: we lost the love of our life and
now it's too late to go back.

Don't stop doing something you like due to lack of time. Don't stop having someone by your side. Your kids
will soon not be yours, and you will have to do something with that remaining time, where theonly thing that
we are going to miss will be the space that can only be enjoyed with the usual friends. This time unfortunately,
never returns. The day is today!
WE ARE NO LONGER AT AN AGE TO POSTPONE ANYTHING.

Getting on in years yet appreciating reminder gems like this!

The Magic Bank AccountImagine that you had won the Following *PRIZE* in a contest:Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400In your private account for your use.
However, this prize has Rules:The set of Rules:
    1. Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you.
    2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account
    3. You may only spend It.
    4. Each morning upon awakening,The bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that Day.
    5. The bank can end the game without warning; at any time, it can say, Game Over!"
It can close the account a
nd you will not receive a new one. What would you personally Do? You would buy anything and everything you wanted right? Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for. Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on yourself, right? You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it would be replenished in the morning, right?

ACTUALLY, This GAME is REAL...Shocked ???YES! Each of us is already a winner Of this *PRIZE*.We just can't seem to see it. The PRIZE is *TIME*
    1. Each morning we awaken to Receive 86,400 secondsAs a gift of Life. 2. And when we go to sleep at Night, any remaining time is Not credited to us.
    3. What we haven't used up that Day is forever lost. 4. Yesterday is forever Gone. 5. Each morning the account is Refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time
    WITHOUT WARNING...
SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds? Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars. Think about it and remember to Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than You think. So take care of yourself, be Happy, love deeply and enjoy life! Here's wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day. Start spending.... "DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT GROWING OLD...!" SOME PEOPLE DON'T GET THE PRIVILEGE!

So....exactly what's so good about getting old?

You tend to " mention " when it's your birthday.....every year you " mention it " to anyone who is within earshot.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!! ha ha ha

Your posts from Sept. 22, 2023 and on have me thinking how as we get older, some things made more sense than when we were 6 or 7 yrs old or teenagers.

As a young adult and in my twenties, I rather was confounded on why older women 60+ and some in their fifties kept their hair short. Then perimenopause (40s)and hot flashes provided insight. When humidity caused my cancer to feel like a toaster oven, I embraced cutting off hair to feel a few degrees cooler on my head. When I see women with kids in their own families and caring for an older adult as well, long hair seldom is in the picture in order to keep shower time minimal and squeeze the most of each waking minute.

This weekend, I wished for a phone receiver to use on my cellphone. My teen years did involve a wall phone and hours of calls cradling a receiver or holding it between my shoulder and head.
I do not like cellphones because if my ear is not touching the cellphone just right, the ear touches something on the screen and furious tapping ensues to quell whatever beep or option is active.
The headset I want to use cannot be used as a third piece, an adapter, does not work. Besides, headsets remind me of hard headbands that I wore during grades 4 and 5, and often I could not wear them for long (pain at temples is a reason).

Older means more decisive actions (knowing what the cannot be bothered lists are in our own heads).
-----Paring relationships comes with neglect, ghosting or realization one is not valued by someone else.
-ill health or sudden financial disruption of life as it used to be. Sometimes one is dealing with awfulness and is not ready to update or share what they feel. Might even "hide" socially while determining how bad/tricky/emotionally straining reality is as it rolls along.
