Happy Sunday!
Had a birthday pool party yesterday afternoon. It was on even though the weather was looking like rain.
It was windy all afternoon but with such small kids (9 weeks/6 month/3 yr/4yr) we just stayed in the house. So loud lol
Left for home at 7pm so was nice to not have rain on the drive home. (it rained most of the way there)
This morning up and out of the house after 7am. Grabbed a McDonald's coffee since coffee maker needed to be descaled (done now!)
Parked and walked at the town docks Stopped at RCSS to grab a package of lean beef for the fridge and bought triscuit crackers(spend $10 get 4000 pc pts) tidying kitchen (cleaning get out fridge/planning to use up stuff for dinner) and packing up for road trip. My sister packed our entire lunch/snacks for tomorrow so I will bring a few snacks and try to pay for their dinner!
It was actually chilly out this morning so I was thank-full to have a hoody with me. Even in the house the AC isn't coming on but I don't want to open the windows yet.
Have a great Sunday!

Good Morning Everyone,
Up this morning and out to drive Mom's car, we are taking it to the mechanic this week but I wanted to make sure she would start. Don't want to be getting ready to take her and she won't start. So just drove around for about 40 minutes and came home.
Set the PVR for the week, yes we still have cable but with Mom not being able to leave the house, we feel it is a must plus we get 3 streaming services for free with our cable. so that is a bonus.
Just finished making Chocolate Croissants, Mom ate one yesterday and I left 2 incase she wants to just eat those. It something I don't normally buy.
I have a few other things I plan to knock out today but not going to lie, I am taking it slow.
It is also a bit chilly here, I threw on a dress to go drive Mom's car and the walk to and from the car was a little chilly. It looks like the air quantity warning is gone so will open the windows and let some fresh air in. So nice after the house being closed up.

Maybe a bit of an odd question but I see more and more recipes calling for it and I have shied away from buying it because of the price but does anyone here buy Nutritional Yeast?
I know it is supposed to have an almost cheese like flavour because I see it often as a cheddar replacement for vegan dishes but I have noticed it more in regular dishes. It looks like No Frills now carries it but there says Large Flake where is most of the ones I see in recipes look like a power. I think I will grab it but it is something new so not sure if anyone else uses it.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

My husband had some possible signs of a blood clot last night so I whisked him off to the ER. Luckily all was well. Spent 5 hrs and were well taken care of even though the place was packed to the rafters.

Good Morning Everyone,
A little bit of a shock when I came down this morning and how chilly it was in the house. We had all the windows open and the coolness got in overnight. I had to go back up and put on warmer clothes but now you can feel the humidity is setting in before the storms that are coming in tomorrow.
I got almost everything I wanted to get done, done yesterday and the one thing I did not get done was more of a want, not a need.
I am struggling today with focus. I am feeling super worn down.
But the world doesn't stop spinning so today well I work I have the bedding and the couch blankets going. The last load of my bedding in the dryer and the couch blankets are in the washer. Waiting for Mom to get up so I can wash her bedding.
Dinner tonight I am not sure, we have options, I just need decide what I feel like. I did make rice yesterday so we could do Chicken Fried Rice with Dumpling or I could make Beef and Broccoli. Not sure what I am feeling.

@lizzie bargain that’s good news that there was no blood clot . You made a good call even though the wait was long you get the reassurance that all is good.

Lizzie so glad there was no clot.
Well i have Sebastian and Ashlyn slept over as he has been having a hard time (he really missed his dad when he was in Europe for 12 days and he has been thinking about death age almost 10.)
So took them to dollarama this morning one toy only .
Then we went to a trinket box in our city where you bring a small toy and take one -neat concept. So my son was tossing a bunch of little stuff a few weeks back and i went thru it and keep stuff. So they traded about 6 items ,made them so happy.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Been a bit of a weird day, I was supposed to have a meeting which has now been changed 3 times, we will see if it happens this week.
Mom had an online meeting and then we needed to take her car to the mechanic. She gets in and says that noise isn't the heat shield, I have been saying that for over a month but we will see what they find.
We got soaked when we got home, it was pouring but it had slowed down so I got Mom out of the car and it started pouring so I had to run to try to get her and her stuff in the house. I had her cane in my car which she needs for the stairs and then I need to bring her walker in.
I am struggling a lot over here, just a lot going on and trying not to let it get to me but I feel like I need a day off for life but that is not reality but how I wish it was.
Keeping it kind of simple for dinner just going to do Homemade Fried Rice with Dumplings and some Rice Vinegar Cucumbers.

I find couponing less rewarding than it used to be. The value of the coupon matters a lot. Won't waste time printing one
that offers $1.00 a product if that product rarely goes on sale. I try to avoid the printed versions for the exact reason
@cath007 mentioned about stores saying we don't take photo copies....grrr! IT'S not a photocopy.
Our need for large grocery orders has passed, so I try to stick to a list of the items we need and IF I happened to have
a coupon for something on the list, great!
These days I get more coupons for cat food and treats than human stuff....ha ha
I rely more on PM-ing and weekly rewards offers though PC Optimum, Blue Rewards, Scene and Moi.
I still place coupons beside corresponding products in the store for others to use. These are the mailed
ones i know i won't use.Last edited by walkonby; Tue, Jul 21st, 2026 at 04:33 PM.

Cath ,i feel the same as walkonby i too find couponing less rewarding than 46 years ago >The coupons were smaller but more in abundance .
So i too dont use printed cant be bothered ,plus i dont have a printer.
I rely on programs p.c ,moi ,triangle ,scene ,blue rewards and checkout 51 to get my deals.
I do like to price match ,sometimes.
