Slow start this morning....which is ok with me because I am just sitting now to eat my 1st meal of the day( oatmeal)
Made coffee and went to do my walk around the lake even though the weather app was showing the rain/lightning coming in. Took my chances. After the half way point I sat at the water and enjoyed my coffee. Back to my vehicle for a sip of water and then walked the 2 blocks to No Frills.
Picked up the instant PC expresso for $4.25 (received 2000 PC pts) so that my points total his $20! Then grabbed 2 x 2pk lean ground beef, sour cream and found Taco bell taco kits for $2 with a January 2027 expiry.
Pulled 2 packages of ground turkey from the freezer and will make taco meat for DS- I season/cook the meat well so he doesn't even notice its not ground beef- Cheaper and healthier for him!
This afternoon I am going to make myself an iced coffee with the instant expresso I bought- If we like it then will stock up on a few jars! Being able to make it for cheap and less calories then out is great! I never thought I liked iced coffee then my sister got me on the iced lattes- way too much sugar! Then she gave me the cold brew and we loved it (so much that someone finished the bottle!) Being able to add my own oat/coconut milk and a bit of my cream is what makes it!
And it feels like an afternoon treat!
Ok off to get stuff done!

Good Morning Everyone,
Had a bit of s slow morning because my sinuses are yet again not happy, and honestly, I am just tired.
Yesterday turned into a bit of a day just a lot of little things that needed to be addressed and then Step-Mom called me for some help. I have to laugh it was their decision to remove me from training but now my siblings keep getting me to work with their staff and yesterday step-mom said she may need me to come spend an afternoon with her. Why not just move me back.
I did make it to Canadian Tire to grab a new laundry basket and also got the mouse things. A little pricey but I am sure they will be worth it, if we have no mice.
Then to Zehrs to get Milk, Almond Milk, Raspberries, and grabbed some two-bite cinnamon roll croissants, I just needed a treat but they were on sale and I got points. I got 2 almond Milk one on sale for $3.25 and a second in clearance, expires in 10 days for $1.33, I will use to make overnight oats for this week.
On my way home ran into No Frills for Sour Cream and Peaches. Also grabbed a Ground Beef (thinking next week's lunches will be Big Mac Salads) and more Sandwich meat for the weekend as I planned to spend the weekend in the basement (I will make a separate post on this).
Lastly filed the car up with Gas.
Well I was out I got a call from a manager that something looked weird, honestly, I blew it off. Finally around 3 I got time to look into it, we have a huge glitch that now need to fix. But oddly it happened in June and no one noticed until now. I did what I could yesterday worked late but decided this weekend need to be about the basement (more on this in another post). Unfortunately before I found out about the glitch I completely booked my Monday so we will see, how quickly I can get this fixed.
Dinner ended up being Nachos as I was complete exhausted and still working.
I did manage to pull all the data and make the master spreadsheets and insert the formulas so now I just need to go over the data and apply the fix. But at this point it was around 8 pm and I knew trying to tackle this last night would not go well, so I decided to just to go bed.
This morning I slept in, so needed and woke up to my sinuses hating me so it was a bit of a slow morning but I did manage to get laundry going and did tackle a bit of the basement.
Now I need some lunch.
Happy Saturday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Afternnon thanks for all the well wishes everyone. The nerve blocker wore off last night but this time i am on top of the meds ,writing it down when i take them .
Slept 7 hours last night ,tonight will be a lot less,
Soooo painfull today but i still did the few exercises from my chart.
I cried a little this morning as i ate my 2 hard boiled eggs. All part of the journey .
My dear neighbour who just lost her hubby came over last night just for 10 minutes to give me an apple pie, cookies she bought from Zarkys our local shop. She gave me a big hug as she was going away with her 3 grown kids and grandchildren to a cottage near peterborough ,i think this would be good for her .
Anyway i will pop on and off now and then ,take care everyone.Oh and i wont be driving for 6 weeks they said but on a good note i get a handicapp card for 5 months ,it was never offered last time .Hubby can pick it up with 2 pieces of i.d from me ,nurse said even if i am a passenger the first 6 weeks we can use it.
Parking cost 24.00 yesterday and 22.00 for hubbys breakfast in the hospital cafeteria ,3.50 for a coffee in a fancy shop on main floor.Oh well not frugal but needed.Last edited by coupon girl; Yesterday at 04:11 PM.

@coupon girl !! How incredible that you get a handicap parking pass for those 6 weeks! Pain meds will be
your best friend for a bit. I felt my blood boil when you mentioned the scam cost of parking and meals inside
the Hospital, been there done that as well. Your widowed neighbour spending time away with her family should
help her grieving process.

The basement sage continued (really do we expect any less at this point??????)
I decided even though there were a million other things I needed to do, I was devoting this weekend to the basement. Even when I woke up with sinuses bugging me, I was determined just slowed down.
I went down and started moving boxes with the intention of getting them set up to bring up for Mom to look through until I discovered mouse poop. Good news, it isn't recent, it is from a couple of years ago and we thought they didn't get in the L because there was no food there but now I realize I think they were coming into the L as I discovered last summer a hole in our screen which has been closed up but I thought they came in and went for the pantry. So I started cleaning the box and everything in until I got the second box which was covered.
So I gave up on the boxes and started working on the bags of cake books, first bag broke on me so I put it into a new bag only realize these bags are so heavy I am going to have to haul them out one at a time and there are at least 20 bags.
By this point I was literally dripping in sweat and hearing my heartbeat in my ear (which basically means I am stressed and my blood pressure is spiking).
After taking out some garbage and deciding I was done for the day and it was time to take a shower I decided one thing. This is beyond me, I cannot tackle this alone, it is time to admit I am defeated and as much I don't want to it is time to admit I need to hire someone to do this.
I kind of feel like it was a sign waking up with my sinuses bugging me, now that I found found the mouse poop, I am going to have to mask up (I was already wearing gloves) and disinfect everything and that is not an option right now unless I want to go full on sinus infection masking isn't happening.
I felt so good about my decision until I tried to talk to Mom and she initial shut me down. Telling me she wouldn't have people trapsing through our house and we need to just get it done. I did my best to be calm and explain, I cannot do it all, I am behind on everything the bathroom needs to be done, the floors done, not to mention all the other things she listed the night before.
Last night she asked me what I was doing this weekend and I said the basement and was asked if I squeeze in cleaning out the freezer and maybe not this weekend but soon cleaning the oven. As well a few other things she needs done.
I have done some research, found some companies now I just need to check out the reviews and get quotes. Mom says she still doesn't like the idea but is coming around. I hate the idea of spending the money but this is just too far beyond me. I will tackle all the other areas but this one I just can't do and it pains me to say that I need to be realistic which is not my forte.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

@coupongirl knee surgery as day surgery now, that’s both awesome and crazy. Hope you have a speedy recovery. I too spent my hard earned money on parking at a hospital yesterday. 20.50 for less than three hours but since I had no out of pocket for an MRI and a mammogram that seems like a bargain. In NS hospital parking is now free. So many people abused it that you need to have the hospital validate it or you pay, but that seems fair to me. I recently drove my brother to one of his appointments and he had the receptionist validate my parking ticket and I went for a lovely walk in the gardens.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.
