I once googled for several hours looking for freebies. I got 1 small sample about six months later! I've gotten generous cat food samples by calling up the manufacturer. These days I'm using 2 freebies websites.

I love forums the best, because you get to read what other people have to say about the freebies. I'm a member of one, and just joined this one which I've grown very fond of. I think it's the busiest and friendliest. Other than that Google can turn up some good things, but only if you're searching for specific things (like free 3-d glasses). "Canadian Freebies" and similar searches will mostly bring up the same sites, most of which are pretty useless and US centered anyway.
