I contacted and this is what I got:

We appreciate your letting us know you were unable to redeem our print-at-home Glade® Scented Oil Candles coupon on the Candle Tin. I'll be certain to share the difficulty you reported with the people responsible for on-line promotions.

As I don't have the coupon to review, your experience has been shared with our Glade® Team. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I've mailed a complimentary coupon to you for any Glade® product up to $5 in a printed format that should be readily accepted by merchants. Please enjoy using this on the product of your choice.

    Best regards,

    Carolyn

I'm sure she purchased 6. If she needed she could have made them do one at a time.

One per purchase means one per item purchased.

That's what I'd think but if I'm not mistaken I have seen somewhere on SC (not sure of thread; I'll try to track it down when I have a bit more time) that some stores (I think it was in fact WM) interpret "one per purchase" as being one per transaction which means one can only buy one at one time....so have cashier ring in 1, you pay; then ring in another, you pay!!! well, if they want to make it harder on themselves I guess they could do that but if using their judgement wanted to make it easier for them and the customer they'd ring them all through and accept all the coupons; I don't think it would make a difference at the end of the day but I don't work retail so I don't really know for sure.

Well and just when I was going to go in and fight with the store manager armed with their coupon policy and some helpful emails........ I get a nice cashier who just rang it through with no trouble.

Sigh. Oh well yay! 2 free candles =)

When I called the 1-800 number on the back of the Glade Tin, the lady told me that the tin and the glass holder are 2 DIFFERENT products so it's up to the store if they want to accept the coupon or not?

That makes no sense whatsoever. It is up to glade whether they will reimburse the company for accepting the coupon.

I just received this in my e-mail

Thank you for contacting us about your coupon for Glade® Scented Oil Candles. Unfortunately, this $4.00 coupon is only intended to be used for the Glade® Scented Oil Candles starter kit and not for the tins.

I am sending a complimentary coupon for Glade® Scented Oil Candles Tins to the address you provided. This coupon is in a format that should be readily accepted by most retailers. We hope you will enjoy trying our product.

    Cordialement,

    Connie

So now I am very confused!!!

    I am totally confused too!
I double checked my WM last night and there is in fact a display card announcing the new SOC tins and they are referred to as candle holders, travel size and refillable. (If you really want to play with words, if the tin holder is considered refillable, then is it not therefore also a starter kit!? You buy one tin and then buy the candles to re-use the tin holder.) The display card is a promo display card provided by the manufacturer.
Also looking more closely at the coupon and although the product pictured is the glass holder the product referred to is "Glade SOC holder" without any specification as to whether it is the glass or tin holder nor are there any exclusions stated in the small print. Nowhere is there specification that the coupon is for a starter kit nor is there specification or exclusion of what is considered the starter kit.
If you look at the product itself, the instruction booklet on the back of the tin refers to the tin as "the holder" ("Place the holder on a flat heat-resistant surface..../...ensure the holder is free of debris./After the candle has completely burned and holder is cool..../...clean the holder..../CLEANING HOLDER:..../WARNING: Read all warnings on the packaging and bottom of the canlde holder before use....
At WM, the item rings in as SOC TIN HLDR.

I'll certainly respect the most recent information SCJohnson has provided SC members but it is very confusing especially when initial contact with SCJ by members about these tins/coupons suggested the coupons were valid for the tins.

The $4.00 off coupons in NOT intended for use with the tins. I have posted about this several times. Clearly, Glade has changed their policy since people started using them for the tins, and when I (and several other SCers e-mailed them asking if it was legit or not). The e-mail I received is below:

"Thank you for asking about our coupon.

Please know this coupon is only for the original Glade® Scented Oil Candles starter kit. This coupon is not valid for the tins.

I apologize for any confusion this has caused.
