The phone call arrived when I was at the college and luckily my brother was home to receive the good news. He called me and made sure I was in the car before telling me, I was a winner....family knows best....because I just kept screaming like a maniac! What a rush!!! I am part of the winner's circle now!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you to all who post contests and give out their winning tips.....you guys ROCK!

Now, for some technical stuff....I was sent an "affidavit" in it I have to fill out of my name, address ect. but it also asks for my S.S. Number is that normal? I thought it wasn't safe to give social insurance info out....this is my first win EVER...so I need all of your help!

As for giving out your SIN, I have never had to do that to claim anything. But most of what I've won is from the radio. So I don't know!

i would not give my Sin number out on a prize form...i didnt have to for the big contest i won and that was a trip and everything so you shouldnt need it for a win like that

Congrats to the winners.......definitely I would say NO on giving out my SIN number.....that is confidential info that no one needs to have, especially contest promoters.

I had to sign a form when I won a largeish contest from KFC last year ARV $500 + no where did it ask for my sin. I would leave it blank, if they really need proof of who you are there are other ways that are way less invasive of personal infos imo.
