Thread: Why Walmart hates me

This is probably why Walmart and Safeway hate me. Walmart especially though they **** me over every chance they get so I **** them over right back. Before I learned SCOP practically every time I went shopping SOMETHING was wrong. A dollar here, 3 dollar there. I think I only learned about SCOP in January too and aside from what is in the pic I got 2 cases of pepsi, 2 cases of mountain dew, 4 cases of ginger ale, a 6 pack of blue gatorade, a pack of Sonny boy cereal, a pack of bagels, licorice all sorts and possibly more but thats all I can remember.
Yes I am a cheapskate, I know. Sorry for fuzzy pic.
*Edit*
I wont shy away from the hostility but Im not quire sure the reason for it. This is after 4 months worth of grocery shopping its not like this pic was taken from one visit to Walmart.

Because he probably SCOP'D all of these items. He probably scanned every item in the store until he found some priced incorrectly.
This is not what SCOP is about

Because everything in the pic was given to me free (or $10 off)? Thats 11 tubs of ice cream, and thats not including what Ive managed to eat during that time lol. The chicken breasts on the right I got for 2.99 each, the chicken wings for $4.99
I'm pretty sure they dont look forward to my visits :p
To defend myself somewhat, no, that is not at all what I did. You will notice some duplicates because after I SCOP once I will keep going back every week until they fix the price.Last edited by EmperorOfCanada; Sun, May 3rd, 2009 at 11:00 PM.

The stores should be changing their price if its wrong. I thought thats why they have a tracking sheet and mark down all of the info on an item that scans wrong.

When an item scans incorrectly I A) get it SCOP'd or B) if I dont want it I SCOP it anyways and donate it to the food bank. After that though next time I shop there I make sure to see if the price has been fixed. If it hasnt I feel absolutely no shame in getting it over and over again until they fix it.
I figure if I get enough free products out of them they will start taking pricing more seriously. If they know a price is wrong (too high) and leave it out there they are basically helping the company steal money from unsuspecting customers. That is not acceptable and without people making them be accountable, they have no reason to change.

Ok, great that you donate to the local food bank. BUT, if you don't want the item how do you even know it is priced incorrectly.

Ah you're annoying...cause I bet donuts to dollars you are the guy that leaves all the sh*t he scans piled up by the scanner because he is a lazy cheap a** who IMO abuses SCOP
we all know that stores should keep their prices in check but really...I mean really...you are just that annoying guy!!

I actually admire you busting me on that, you are a pretty logical thinker. :p
Sometimes they have old sale signs up, sometimes items just tend to 'stick out' if everything of a particular brand is 2.99 and one odd one out is 2.49 then I pick it up.
I've been wrong before and ended up paying for and keeping for an item I didnt really want, usually it only amounts to a couple dollars and I think in the long run I have come out ahead. I also plan on sending a couple tubs of ice cream to my mom who usually doesn't treat herself.
I can understand how some might frown on actively seeking out mispriced items, however its often not even on purpose. If I notice something is mispriced (or I think it might be) then I pick it up. I dont work for the store it would be silly for me to just rip the tag off, and in some cases I have been wrong and it IS the right price.
In any case, I appreciate you reading and commenting
You are certainly entitled to your opinions. I actually dont use store scanners any more than the average shopper and Tray if you really have followed my other threads then I dont see how you can say that. I nail it to the store if they overcharge me and refuse to make it right. Would be silly to not fight them for overcharging me, no?Last edited by EmperorOfCanada; Mon, May 4th, 2009 at 12:03 AM.
