I was all pumped to make a big roast beef dinner - but Sobey's didn't have any of the beef on sale left.... so we had Chinese take-out instead, and it was yummers! Enough for tomorrow, too, so another day off cooking then!

Went to Crabby Joe's had chicken ceaser wrap with onion rings Yummy!
I think I'd better stop posting what I am going to have for dinner and only post what I had for dinner:redface:. Tonights dinner got pushed back again. I was just feeling crappy after attending a funeral so DH took me out to an Italian place for dins <3 .

its 12.13 am and i havent had dinner yet
Well, we had leftovers for dinner. But what I really want to talk about is what we had for lunch! Today was the Pyrogy Lunch at the Ukrainian Community Centre in the old Stratchcona neighbourhood in east Vancouver. It's eagerly anticipated by moi because it's one of the rare opportunities I have to get some Ukrainian food that is "home made".
It's always such a pleasure (especially on a cold rainy day) to head down the stairs at the hall and get hit with the steamy aroma of pyrogies, cabbage rolls, Ukrainian sausage, borsht etc etc. Here's a look at what I had...

The Ukrainian half of me is in seventh heaven as I eat this. It reminds me of Sunday dinners at grandma and grandpa Trofanenko's farm. The spread pictured above was $10 and it goes towards some charitable work they do. Not pictured is dessert. Home made butter tart-like squares, apple crumble, cookies, brownies... and it was 3 pieces for 75 cents!! I exercised a little self control and did not clear the butter tart square plate! This made my day, which was a good thing because the weather was really miserable. :-)
