2016 celebration exotic meal
I have a big stock pot full of beef stew simmering on the stove, will have store bought buns to go with.
We have some mashed Potatoes to use up so making a Mashed Potato Bake with Cheese and Bacon, we will have with Flour Breaded Pork Chops and some sort of veggie from the freezer.
We're having nibbles. Due to snow storms and timing, our guests weren't able to come over to visit. Fresh veggies, crackers, cheese ball, 3 types of pepperoni, etc are all on offer.
Maple salmon fillets, fried rice and stir fry veggies. Ice cream sandwiches for dessert.

Just called to order Chinese food, it's usually 15 minutes, tonight it's 45 minutes - understandable that it be busy today! I only had crackers and veggies for lunch, so I'm hungry!

I know it sounds heavy on the pork, but they do it best. The soup is what they call regular, but comes with bok choy and slices of the bbq pork. The noodles have little strips of the pork; the chop suey has big slices, along with tons of heavenly veggies - it's my absolute favourite dish at this place.
The s&s is a compromise - we usually like dry garlic ribs or honey garlic, but theirs aren't great - same with chicken wings which my husband usually likes. Those other meat dishes we like are at a different place far away - but we only order from there when there are more than just the two of us, because their portions are huge.
With the above, there are just enough leftovers for the next day for us.

Oh gosh..I've done so much eating and drinking...last night was awesome...sooo much food... munchie & appetizers & DRINKS of all kind, surrounded by family and friends ..at midnight I got to shot a 12 gauge gun..wow, those things pack a punch, in the shoulder!!! ha...(we're allowed to do that here) So , one uncle hosted a late lunch today and had the full monty, turkey, jiggs dinner, gravy, cookies and deserts; all homemade.. I go up at 10:00 am !! and after 5 cups of coffee made this caramel, apple cake with fresh cream for something different from all the chocolate...it was really good...after an afternoon nap went to another uncle's house for dinner and they had ham, turkey, 3 different potato salads, coleslaw, macaroni salad, garden salad, broccoli & bacon salad, the list goes on..all kinds of different desserts...
