lunch- scrambled eggs with toast
dinner- ramen noodle with chinese greens
whole tube of pringles and kitkat.
last night i made a baked pasta with turkey sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, garlic and onions topped with cheddar cheese and baked in the oven for half hour. popcorn/cheezies from the drive-in for dessert. yummy. tonight was corn on the cob, hotdogs and a big garden salad.
italian breaded tilapia and meatloaf with left-over rice and chinese greens.
Oh boy. I cannot WAIT for supper tonight! We're having corn on the cob roasted in the open fire. It's been soaking in the husks since 11am...AND...it's the best local sweet corn around. Never had corn this good ever except from this one particular farm. I'm drooling just thinking about it. :P
...and some hot dogs to go with...which, isn't exactly the sexiest fare to go with the world's tastiest corn on the cob...but hey...the weinies were $1.00 a package...and THAT'S pretty darned sexy to me too. LOL
Today just prepared potato curry and fried rice.
not exactly sure. hub's is cleaning out the fridge everything went into a frying pan with.. it smells good.
Pasta and veggie sauce...after spin...I have to work for my dinner:)
was gonna make vegetable lasagna in the crock, but it is far too hot today for anything inside,so i am making homemade burgers on the grill, maybe some broccoli and cauliflower salad(good for lunch leftovers too)
1 head cauliflower
1 bunch broccoli
2 small onion, sliced and separated
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled(optional)
1/2 cup cubed cheddar or whatever cheese.
cut all the broccoli and cauliflower into bite size pieces, mix all the other ingredients and pour over salad.mix well.chill.
Leftover meatloaf and a monstrous salad because for the first time in years, I am on my own for dinner!!
pasta to finish up the sauce that has been in the fridge for far too long! It was still good but I needed to eat it up just because it was the oldest thing sitting in there.
dh requested sheppards pie for dinner tonight so we had that and some broccoli. havent had it in ages.
Cajun catfish, corn on the cob and rice:)
Tonight was takeout Chinese food - we needed a change, and it was yummy. Enough for tomorrow, too, always a bonus!
i always wanted to do corn on the grill.do i have to soak it first or just straight on? i want it cooked but not burned and it tastes better than boiled...
Great eats! You guys sure know your way around a kitchen! :D

I like it on the grill too, but have never cooked it that way myself. I always boil it. Bring the water to a rolling boil, add the corn, reduce heat to half, boil 7 minutes, not a second longer. :) there's a place at the flea market at the other end of the GTA - they bbq it and then add hot spices and lime juice - yummmmmm.
It's my last day off so dh and I are going out for dinner tonight. No cooking - Yay!
pizza.theres a huge storm rolling in again,so no bbqing
This may sound weird but it works really well! Wrap your husked corn in a paper towel, run it under the tap to get the paper towel nice and wet and them wrap tightly in tin foil. grill on medium for about 20-25 minutes( I am really bad at timing things), turning at about the 10-15 minute mark. I like to do my corn this way because the corn doesn't char and is really moist and it will sit in the foil and stay hot while I am grilling the meat. Good Luck
It lookslike my meal plan for the rest of the weekdays will be:
Tonight: Quiche with shallots, bacon and gruyere cheese served with a side salad using my homegrown tomatoes :P
Wednesday: Chicken soluvlaki, lemon roasted taters, tatziki(homemade of course ;)), and greek salad with more of my tomatoes :P
Thursday: BBQ'd rosemary chicken, leftover taters, grilled corn
Friday: Hotdogs on the bbq with chili ;)
I changed my mind. Yes it happened in mere minutes ;)
Friday will be personal pizza's with the leftovers :P
Monday will be the dogs and chili
so unhealthy, but I two pizza pockets for supper
leftover meatloaf, rice and salad.
leftover rice that was in the fridge and the last of my frozen veggies :( I want pizza after seeing the thread about Domino's half off grr LOL!
Yup. Plain old water. When you cook corn on the cob in an open fire you have to soak it for at least 5-6 hours to prevent it from burning up in the fire. Ideally, you would soak the corn longer (overnight if possible). As it was, we had soaked ours for 6 hours and some of the corn was still burnt inside. But--it was tasty nonetheless. Love that smoky flavour!
