Fish n chips with coleslaw
Husband told me before he left for work this morning that he would bring home supper for my birthday.
Well, yum!
From my favourite Greek restaurant he got me (and our son) the schnitzel, spaetzle, and sauerkraut combo (usually also comes with a delish sausage, but they had none left so they gave an extra piece of schnitzel). Husband had boneless ribs.
Then, even though I didn't have room, just had to have dessert after I blew out the birthday candle - it was a chocolate pecan torte - which doesn't quite describe it, it was more like a giant tart - chocolate crust, filling similar to pecan pie/butter tarts but thicker and not sickly sweet, lots of pecans and lots of dark chocolate drizzled on top.
That sounds delicious!
My birthday is next week, but we haven't made any plans yet. We haven't gone out on a date together since December. I'm thinking about lining up a babysitter and having a nice evening out with hubby, even though my birthday is technically on a Wednesday this year.
Angela, that would be nice to get out! We haven't had a date night in - well, our son is just over 22, so that's how long it's been, lol! We just took him everywhere with us!
Last night was Oktoberfest with roasted potatoes and carrots.
Tonight, no idea yet did not take anything out before I came to work so we will have to see what mom does.
Tonight I'm making pork meatballs, with homemade tomato sauce from the freezer - I've been saving it til our son is over, it's a fave of his (and ours!). Will serve with some sort of long pasta (not sure if I have spaghetti, so it may be linguini), and garlic toast.
Third night in a row to have son over - yippee, mama's happy! :)
i am thinking of making some crusted chicken strips with quinoa and spinach!
seafood chowder-- (new england style) w/ clams (can), crab, cod, mussels (dry freeze) and small amount of squid (a.k.a calamari)
Imodium....again

homemade iced green tea with lemon.
I find that kind of sweet chili sauce tends to go better with chicken/fish, as is doesn't stand up to the stronger beef flavors. I like to grate cucumber into it and toss in chicken wings, or doing breaded chicken finger wraps with diced cucumbers, and a drizzle of the sauce. Glaze on baked fish. Works well as a dripping sauce for corn fritters too.
Last night was Beef Stroganoff (sp??) over Egg Noddles, nice warm comforting dish as I am pretty sure if you live in Ontario winter is NEVER ending (or maybe it is just me who feels like this).
Ash - you're right..feels like winter is NEVER going to end! Last night's supper was left over homemade soup with goldfish crackers. Tonight will probably be some type of pizza or pasta (leftover tomato sauce to use up).
making my own chicken tetrazzini ..yummy..
Pulled buffalo chicken sandwiches. I slow cook chicken with buttermilk and franks hot sauce, usually do enough for a few meals and freeze the rest. Today it's just reheat the chicken and coat with more hot sauce, serve on kaiser buns (mine are homemade today, proofing right now) top with shredded iceberg lettuce, and ranch dressing. Will make coleslaw since I have leftover cabbage from chow mein last night, and probably McCain curly fries
beef and barley soup with lots of carrots and sweet potato plus toasted french bread and garlic butter:P

Last night I made a roast with was slathered in a mixture of minced garlic, rosemary and Dijon mustard. I also served roasted potatoes, carrots and onions with French green beans and a pan dripping Demi glacé sauce :P
Today will be leftovers with homemade French bread buns I made earlier today.
Harbie-dinners always sound so fancy at your house!
Last night was an M&M Meats tourtiere (love it!), roasted potatoes and onions, Big Salad.
Last night we went out for Burgers, as much as I am trying to not eat out it was wonderful to get out. Lately with the weather in Ontario is seems like every time I have plans they get cancelled due to weather so it was nice to get out and not just to go to work.
The other night we had spicy chicken wings with roasted potato fingers (wash and quarter potatoes lengthwise, add steak spice, garlic powder and olive oïl, mix together and bake for approx. 30 minutes at 400F) and a spring salad
Tonight im making dry garlic spareribs, chinese fried rice, W0ng Wing eggrolls, chow mein and a pile of raw vegies. Dessert will be Dr Oetkers Mug cake.
here is my plan....I am dragging DS to the buffet for lunch today because with one paying customer I get my lunch FREE!! ( birthday) and because it is a buffet I will not need dinner later on. lol!!
