I'm not up for cooking this tonight. Dh's grandpa died on Tuesday in Calgary. My artist/photographer friend (my wedding photographer) died yesterday in Saskatoon from cancer. I'm feeling particularly bad both physically and emotionally today. I don't even want to take the kids out grocery shopping with me today. So I'm trying to figure out an alternative for supper so that I don't need to stand out there cooking for very long and I really don't want to waste the money on restaurant food.
Tonight was chicken pasta casserole.
Shake n' bake chicken pieces, mashed potatoes and green beans.
Mmmm, GF homemade lasagna with chix breast and spinach. Garden salad with raspberry dressing. Couple of no meat eggplant Parmesan appetizers ( experimented with my Smartpoints ingredients! ) quite tasty.
Ukrainian toast
Went to Mandarin tonight, so so food for too much money.
I decided to paint my old kitchen cabinets (white) so my kitchen is an organized mess right now. Yesterday I emptied every cupboard and packed in boxes for easy access, scrubbed everything with TSP and removed all the doors, hinges, handles, etc, so I'm ready for sanding now. Might go at it later but have a bunch of errands to do today first so will see :)...I bbq'd pork chops in the oven yesterday evening late and did baked potato and maple syrup beans... there's leftovers if I get busy with sanding (I'll probably do the doors in the garage to cut down on dust, although I have a small palm sander with a bag that catches most of the dust) OR if I'm out and about I might just p/u a donair pizza and squirrel away for later :)
Sirloin tip roast, potatoes, Brussel sprouts, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Cherry cheesecake for dessert.
Made a prime rib roast, gravy, peas and fried mashed potatoes for DH if he shows up( he's out ditching banging with a buddy). I'm having a Beaver Buzz.
