dinner was freshly fried, crispy pakoras! with ketchup of course :p
I had a Dr's appt today, he shook my hand twice and even gave me a high-5 so i figure gluttoning out on fatty carbs is A-OK haha.
*groan*
i will smarten up... tomorrow, maybe Wednesday ;)
For supper tonight, I'll make chop suey - I usually use pork loin, but I have a lone teriyaki marinated sirloin steak to use today.
I am falling behind on this thread..lol..sunday was the big Father's Day get together, there was so much food but the highlight was frying insane amounts of chicken wings in a turkey deep fryer outside..LOL.. and there was every kind of different sauce i.e. honey garlic (my fav!) hot, bbq, etc..I have never seen so many wings! Yummy!! Yesterday was leftover steak on cheese buns with a garden salad. Today I think I will do a spice rubbed pork tenderloin and cook that on the bbq, maybe have some rice with it and grill some veggies.
probably home made asparagus soup
leftover Kd and some pork chops.
If I end up in Medicine Hat today, which I probably will, Booster Juice for smoothies and the only fast food I like.... Wendy's for a baconator.. of which, I can only eat half <<--- but I put all the bacon on the half I eat :)
Yahoo!!!
Mmmmmm, reading back through the thread is making me so hungry, AND making me want to get up and start cooking. Dr says I can do a little bit but not to over do it. Since my grandsons b-day is on Friday (summer solstice) I'm going to bake a cake for him to take to school. I usually do cupcakes, but this year I'll have to settle for a cake. Cupcakes would take to long for me to decorate. I'm hoping that a lot of you will send over some of the leftovers, everyone's meals sound amazing, and Nat...chow mein is one of my favorite things!!! So, please.......
We had an amazing fathers day meal, well more like a feast. All my dd's gathered here and made an amazing buffet. The feature was of coarse, my dh's favorite, salt and pepper ribs. So we had plenty of those, plus some with bbq sauce and some with teriyaki sauce. Then there were Greek and watermelon and feta salads, garlic buns, stuffed potatoes, corn on the cob, grilled chicken breast and apple pie (dh's favorite) and chocolate, gluten free cake. As I smile to myself I think what amazing cooks all my dd's are, and I get a lot of thanks from the husbands too:P They definitely got that from me
holly, that food sounds awesome, and of course they got their cooking talent from you!
And I'd love to share supper with you! I don't make chop suey the 'proper' way probably, but the way my mom used to, so it's awfully Canadianized, I suppose. As much as I love takeout chow mein, every few months I want the kind I make, lol!
Tonight I will be BBQing fish and chicken (making lots to do us for dinner and then lunches/dinner the next few days. Will make corn and fries for the kids. I will have salad with lots of veggies :)
Leftover crockpot pork chops and mashed potatoes.
Musta not been totally awake this morning - mixed up chow mein and chop suey - I shall be making the latter! :)
couple slices of cheese
It's been pretty simple and easy around here lately. I have done several versions of rice. 1 Mexican with black beans, corn, cilantro and mexi spices like cumin. 1 with edamame beans (my personal fave:P), corn and scrambled eggs. I also made chick thighs with a roasted pineapple/habenero sauce to go with the rice. MIL made Indian curry with rice and a salad with yougurt dressing and a lemon pound cake with fresh strawberries and cream:P
Tonight is Greek style coucous with sundried tomatoes, artichokes, oilves before we head south for fuel and food.
