Tom Cochrane said Life Is a Highway & he rode it all night long,
& Ventura Highway is a state one & was immortalized in America’s song,
Rockin Down the Highway was what those Doobie Brothers did,
& Gordon Lightfoot’s route was a Carefree Highway when I was just a kid,
Highway Song by James Taylor is so whimsical & charming,
& if you’re on a Highway to Hell, it can be quite alarming,
Bon Jovi was on a Lost Highway & I hope it all turned out alright,
& Highway Star by Deep Purple asked you to hold on tight,
Dixie Highway by Journey serenades about longing & desire,
& Wreck on the Highway by Mr. Springsteen will never be sung by a choir,
Kenny Loggins gave us Highway to The Danger Zone, a so/so kind of movie,
& Aretha Franklin’s highway was a Freeway of Love & that is very groovy,
Our highways can be congested in a bumper to bumper style,
That makes for a very slow passing of a minuscule mile,
Watch out for slow drivers, lane changers & pedal pushers too,
& a happy travel when you take to the highway is what I wish for you.
