Let me get this straight - the kids are OUTSIDE, playing, running around, being kids, GETTING SOME EXCERCISE. Oh yea, let's call the cops!!
It is a God-given right of ALL Canadian children to know both the frustration and the joy in yelling "Carrrrrrrrr" as you move the nets!!Courage is not the absence of fear but acting in spite of it.

Well, this is just so sad.... unfortunately for years there have been some incidents of this happening in other communities in Canada as well...
As long as they are on a low-traffic residential street, playing carefully (not taking potshots at cars, etc.) and safely, what the heck is the problem?
We played on the street in the winter when I was growing up - no nets, though - and CARRRR! is a standard sound throughout communities across Canada!

People just need something to complain about. These kids were playing on a cul de sac too. A few houses going to get egged on Halloween in their neighborhood.

it sounds to me like she was complaining about it more because of the noise i wonder what she plans to do if the kids are playing at a neighbour house making noise or riding their bikes and having a good noisy time. if she continues to call the cops instead of talking to the neighbours shes going to alienate herself even more than she already has.

i'll play advocate of the devil here....what if this lady is very sick and need quiet rest.....and already ask the kids and the parents and try to reach an happy medium several times before but nothing was done to make the play less noisy....i do agree though that calling the cops is going too far.....here in qc i guess the cops would have had a big laught with her complain....not that i want to say the cops here are lazy or don't do their jobs....just that they have lot more important things to look after than a few kids playing in a quiet street....

I know what the local RCMP would have done here if they got a call like that lol
However, having dings in the side of our truck from kids playing ball hockey, I know not all kids (nor their parents) can be responsible about that sort of thing, and it may have just been the last straw for this woman
