Fortuitously, one of the packages I got today are my new winter boots - and kinda free I guess - I had won a contest this summer, and that money went into paypal. Then when I ordered from AE, found out they take paypal, plus I had a code which covered duty, and shipping was free.
Maybe not the best to look at, but they'll be warm for the -40 temps. I had a pair of EMUs two years ago but they are too expensive to get now, and these are kinda similar (the button thingee is just a decoration, they don't open on the side). Big and wide, just what I needed!

I love the booties.I am thinking about splurging on a pair of Uggs?? We will see how I feel if I ever get to the city to shop.I would hate to buy online without trying them on first and there is no where in my area to buy shoes except Walmart and the bargain shop!!

Uggs were way out of my price range, so were the one level down - the EMUs. The EMUs I had before I got at Winners for $40, which is a third of their cost.
Yup, I was scared to buy footwear online too, but felt braver after reading pages and pages of comments from those who bought them who commented on their fit, etc.
I could never buy shoes online, I have odd feet!

I wore them around the living room for a while, then my cats each wore one, lol! It looks pretty stupid when each goes head in, with back legs flailing! Anything new attracts them, but the suede has a pretty strong smell - they need to air out.

No, wouldn't wear them in slush... but then we don't really get that. We kinda go from rain right to two feet of snow, lol!
I hadn't used protective spray on my former pair - they were light burgundy and got salt stains after a while, so I think I'll invest in some spray for these.

Hey, if it's warm enough to have slush here, we all just wear runners!
Rainy, we still wear sandals. We're hearty folk!

Sounds like us here but was curious how they stand up to the different conditions.
