It's Monkey Bay time!
LF: Chapman's ice cream and Dare coupons. DS has a peanut allergy so it's the ONLY ones we buy. Lots FT.

Bev Oda sorry she overspent and will pay us back. Another politician offering empty apologies because they got caught.

Back from the treat dispensers'. Dog & cat ate non-stop, while I was at the dentist. We were all well-fed & are now in need of a diet.

Do you know there are many songs all about Saturday?
Lonely ballads, songs of romance & some doo wop along the way,
One More Saturday Night, is a tune by The Grateful Dead,
The Carpenters sang a song called Saturday, but it wasn’t a hit widespread,
One of Chicago’s biggest hits was Saturday in the Park,
& Elton John said Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting probably after dark,
Cat Stevens once had nobody on Another Saturday Night,
& King Crimson had a Book of Saturday, another tune about plight,
David Bowie’s Drive-In Saturday was on the album Aladdin Sane,
& Same Old Saturday Night by’ ole blue eyes’ goes well with champagne,
Louisiana Saturday Night by Alabama is schmaltzy & kinda twangy,
& Saturday Night by the Bay City Rollers may be bound to drive you rangy,
Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night contains wailing by Jon Bon Jovi,
& Almost Saturday Night by John Fogerty, is sung in the key of D,
On Saturday Afternoons in 1963 is by the lovely Rickie Lee Jones,
& Tom Wait’s Heart of Saturday Night sure has melodic tones,
I’m sure there are many Saturday songs that I’ve omitted from my prose,
So at this time, I shall conclude & bring these queries to a close.

Posting some pics for an SC friend who had some questions about the tiling. She bought the same type of mixed glass marble tiles as i did.
The first is my stove area backsplash, Holly I used a straight edge to make a line behind the stove and cut the tiles flush and ran them up behind the stove fan. I didn't bother to cut them behind the fan as they will not be seen. The accent line is a little trickier because to have a contnuous line of tile i put four of them together then I cut 4 rows by 4 tiles which gave me about 4 feet of continuous. 4 tiles of 4 feet gave me 12 feet of continuous tile. Around the window was a little trickier as I have uneven width on either side so i have 6 wide on one side and 5 on the left. I butted the white tiles right to the granite countertop and just did a thin grout line at the bottom. Under the cabinets th cuts are all uneven due to them not being squared so I have quarter round moulding which i have yet to install but will this week. You wont be able to see any gaps. You absolutely need a wet saw to cut these properly and a strong grip to hold onto them when you cut otherwise they will shatter. let me know if you have any questions.Last edited by Patty Smyth; Sat, Apr 28th, 2012 at 10:12 PM. When I put the quarter rounds under the cabinets I'll post other pics. I also have most of the upper cabinets doors on now too , I haven't been able to paint this week at all because it's too windy and cold and I am painting them outside in the driveway.

Thanks for posting, you did an absolute amazing job. You have convinced me that I can do it. It may take me a while, but I will go ahead and give it a try. I got enough tile to do the entire backsplash so I won't need to but it to another type of tile, butt I will have 2 side ends that will be open, not sure what I will do about it, will have to check around the Internet. My friend has a tile cutting saw, so I'll borrow it from him. Not sure what kind of saw blade he has though, but I could buy one of those if I need too, I saved on my tiles so I guess I could buy a blade, lol! Your kitchen looks gorgeous , you should be so very proud of yourself. Job very well done.
