Yep the weather is pretty freaky lately... I hope we don't get any tornadoes like they are having in the States. Those things seriously freak me out

Well, I'd actually love that.... anything short of a tornado! But we only get those wild, wicked storms mid-summer.

Peeve of the day - it's street-cleaning day, we get three days notice from the city; our vehicles have moved - but stupid stubborn neighbours won't move their vehicles, and actually move them into spaces in front of our house once my son and husband go to work. I am NOT going over there again to ask them to move them - I did last time, and the woman was SO rude... So I'm trying to not stew about how inconsiderate people can be... (but it's hard....)

We had water spouts last year on the river. I saw them and I couldn't believe it. We just happened to be taking the kids downtown for their checkup.

The problem is the city doesn't enforce this and ticket. They keep 'saying' they will.
Last year was the first year for snow routes, so they said they gave lots of warning, education, etc. that they would be ticketing if people didn't comply. So then what the heck did they do? The apes 'forgave' anyone who got a ticket the first time the routes were in use. ARGH!
Just like being a parent, you can't keep threatening, you have to follow through.
Well, I'm going to let my ward councillor know.

Our family has always called Nanaimo Bars.....New York Special. I'll have to ask the other SCers from Norther Ontario if they have ever heard of them being called New York Special.
