Not an easy thing to do. I felt such a crushing sadness when I had to do that with my wonderful Mom. All you can do is be supportive & loving & loving & deal with things as they come up.

My mom and dad live with us. She has Alzheimers and he is blind in one eye and has health issues also. They are 84 and 85, it's not a cakewalk that's for sure.

i'm not telling so in disrespect of my parents, but i notice that as they go older, they become more vulnerable

and i noticed it is like this for many ....

but remember===> they are grown up....not kids

Just thinking about Patrick Swayze and adding him to the list of why people who still have much to contribute die young. Some names that come to mind, JFK, MLK, Princess Diana, Steve Irwin, and many more. I don't think their missions were done yet.

My Dad has been in a nursing home for about five years with dementia (parents have been divorced for years). But since Mom was always fine, thought he'd be the only one I had to worry about!

it's hard having to parent your parent. We are lucky in Canada to have nursing homes and a system that somewhat helps take care of our aging.

No it was taken at Parc Safari!!! Can you believe it. They have made nice improvements and this is a little street with shops on either side when you go in now. I heard they just got a $600,000,000.00 from someone also, so it will get even better.
