Horndogg, I hope you are doing well! I just wanted to pass something on to you that I learned on Wednesday. I was invited to the Look Good, Feel Good, meeting that the Canadian Cancer Society puts on for those dealing with cancer. I have to say it's amazing. I encourage you to go to a meeting if you are able to find one in your area. However, I don't know if every location of the CCS has one or just ones located within cancer centres, but the location that is within the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton has a wig room. There they offer all cancer patients wigs, head bands, hats, etc. FREE of charge. So in case you lose any or all of your hair from treatment and want to wear a head covering, you can get free headpieces from the CCS.
When I went they were so extremely helpful While I haven't lost any hair yet, I'm having brain radiation and therefore I need to have my head and ears covered when outside in the sun, wind, cold and/or warm air. They have so far given me about 5 soft cloth hats and said to continue to get more as I need at any time. So if you need to look into it at all they are a great resource. I assume that there would be a CCS in every Cancer Centre.Last edited by TaraF; Sun, Aug 24th, 2014 at 02:53 PM.
