Typing with one hand. Had surgery past Friday for shoulder. Arthroscopic surgery I was nervous before going in but didn't say anything. Anesthesiologist maybe sensed it and said will make you comfortable as possible. Froze my shoulder and gave me light sedation. I watched the entire surgery. I talked to the anesthesiologist the whole time- animals, weather who knows what else. The surgeon was hammering into my shoulder a number of times. Could feel the vibrations. Surgery was 90 min to 120 min. According to recovery nurse had a lot done to shoulder. Wear a sling for 6 weeks. Its painful-l find out in a few weeks what exactly was done.

Glad you made it through well! Now on to a quick recovery!
Just don't do anything to jeopardize healing - by trying to do things you shouldn't! Take it easy, ask for help!

SOunds like things went smoothly. Too bad it couldn't be painlessly, eh? I'm sure the improvement will be worth the anxiety and down time though. Don't overdo it and reverse the benefits!!

Thanks everyone. i had the option of being put out but anesthesiologist gave me sedative via i.v. - froze my shoulder. watching it on screen not gory, you see a lot of white stuff, hardly any blood showing.
i haven't slept for 3 days-maybe 1-2 hours at most. i think i pulled muscles on my left side- getting out of bed i have to propel myself up using left side. horrific pain in back, left neck, ribs and arm pit. cant even lie down-pain is paralyzing, had to try to sleep upright. almost went to emergency- seems to be bit better today. i don't think its due to the surgery. i may have slept wrong way or hurt myself getting out of bed. i have Tylenol 3 starting to help - ice and heat too

Go to a doc, don't be brave and suffer through pain when you don't have to!

OMG! You are so brave toban. Hats off to you for that! And ouch for whatever happened to your arm during sleep. I hope you have a very speedy recovery and you get to enjoy life at its fullest!
