Sorry, I meant to writer a post earlier, then my mind went blank.
There are lots of things that could cause this if it's a sudden change. Most likely, you have a new cat in your neighbourhood who's wandering through your yard doing the na na na na na thing & you're cat is offended & emphasizing that this is *his* house the only way he knows how.
In terms of changing the behaviour, I had a bit of that with Quincy when he was growing into adulthood & thought he was a "man". I treated him like I would a naughty dog - basically, his freedom was reduced to zero, unless he was under strict supervision, & on the other end of my leash. I have a feeling it only worked because the 3 of us are more dysfunctional than the average 1 human, 1 dog, 1 cat household.
Good luck!

Awww what cute cats!
So I came here to tell you all a funny story. There is cat that someone has in my subdivision, seen him/her around a few times before. My husband dubbed it "Mittens" because his/her two front paws are pure white as if he was wearing mittens (the rest of him is grey/black tabby striped). So the other day I was out on my back deck watching the squirrels playing in the neighbors backyard. One of the squirrels ran down a tree and was picking something off the ground when I saw a flicker of movement about two feet behind him. I looked closer and saw that there was "Mittens" laying on a block of cement! He had zero interest in the squirrel, he was just laying there hanging out. I don't think the squirrel even noticed him and I found it funny that I didn't even see him until he made a slight move!! If it were my cat out there....well let's just say the chase would be on.....lol<center><embed src="http://www.widdlytinks.com/myfamily/silhouettes/silhouettefamily.swf" flashvars="t1=The Bernard Family&pv1=0&pn1=6&px1=251.55&pf1=1&pv2=0&pn2=22&p x2=186.8&pf2=0&pv3=0&pn3=12&px3=305.85&pf3=1&pv4=1 &pn4=9&px4=278.8&pf4=0&pv5=1&pn5=3&px5=226.8&pf5=1 &pv6=0&pn6=1&px6=102.8&pf6=1&pv7=1&pn7=24&px7=317. 8&pf7=1" quality="high" wmode="transparent" name="My Family Silhouettes" allowscriptaccess="samedomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" align="middle" height="230" width="500">

This is my Tig. He came from a house with 5 large dogs. When he first arrived at our home at the tender age of 6 weeks, he looked at our Gracie with a "You don't scare me, I've seen bigger" kind of thing. Gracie adopted this new "puppy" and made sure he always had a warm place to sleep (her fluffy tail), and as you can see in the picture above Tig still submitted to a bath from his "mom" when she thought he needed one. Poor little guy was always wet from dog saliva when he was little. Gracie taught him all the important things about being a dog - how to open a door by pushing really hard with your forehead, how to drink out of the toilet, etc. Gracie is gone now, & Tig is an only cat.
- He likes to tuck me in by sleeping on my chest until I fall asleep then he moves to the end of the bed.
- If we don't get up when the alarm goes off, he will meow into your face - nothing like sleepy cat breath first thing in the morning, and touch your face with his paw or try to stick it in your mouth until you get up.
- Tig is a big cat & there isn't a cat carrier to fit him - the vet playfully calls him Bruiser
- He snores.
- The wind is scary.
- He sits like Al Bundy.

Thanks!
Fart? do you mean the wind thing? I meant he is actually afraid of the wind...it blows on him But ya, he does snore. When he "talks" to us he will occasionally throw a snort in for effect - totally hilarious
