Apollo is now officially overweight. I brought him to the vet today and she wasn't happy as he's a pound more than he should be. Hard to keep a cat on a diet when they pester you for food every chance they get.

My son is such a cutie. Sends me a message from work (he's a mechanic) saying he's working on a cool BMW convertible, adds a pic (which I assume is the car) -
Awww....

What the heck is with really odd behaviour in cats?
We have two cats, realized around suppertime we hadn't seen Vader for a while - but it was hot, figured she was maybe hiding under the bed...
Mid-evening, husband is walking into the kitchen, and Vader emerges from the silverware drawer - which was open a few inches. What the heck? Cats are definitely odd....

If you have a local Target these toys are $5. My cats all love it. Needs 3AA batteries though.

Andi, one of the kittens we had years ago was obsessed with my panties - she'd take them out of the clean laundry basket, and stash them behind a chair in the living room.
Only found out one day we were sitting in the living room, and she comes in the room with them in her teeth, holding her head up high (uh, they aren't small...), walking crookedly...
(thank goodness cats are so cute....)

This is a fairly new thing. It used to be my socks he stole (& hid under his bed). Started worrying Lily dog was eating them, when I finally found them a week or so later. Not as bad as the dozens of pens he stole and hid under the fridge.

The only thing "cute" my cats do is to allow the dogs to hump them at any and all times. Even when the cats are eating!

At one point we considered renaming Autumn (it was her shelter name) to Penny because she loves playing with them. She had been in the shelter for ages though and was kind of used to Autumn (and so were we from volunteering there) so it never stuck
Roo plays fetch, all you have to do is hold his little soccer ball and he will scream at the top of his lungs and run for the stairs. You have to stand at the other end and drop it down the stairs, he runs down grabs it, back up along the hall and drops it at your feet, He can do this ALL DAY. I get bored of throwing it before he gets bored of playing.
Izzy plays only with 3 "toys". A shoe lace, a ball of kitchen foil and the toy I posted above. Her only quirk is she has to sleep on my hip. She is a klepto about foil balls though. I make her one, it disappears, make her another... a week later I find loads of them in a random place. Last week she was hiding her toys in the mop bucket, the week before, she had got into the cupboard, pushed the lid off the slow cooker and they were in there. My pillowcase (never his) is also a favourite.

I'll have to try the foil ball. most cats are afraid of foil, never thought to make a toy out of it. my cat also loves the laser...but only on a certain carpet, never on the wall, just the carpet.

Foil balls are not exciting for Quincy cat, not unless they've already been used in making dinner.
My guys take turns playing with the laser, although sometimes Quincy has to be reminded it's Lily dog's turn. And both know the sound it makes when I pick it up.
