Well, this bad experience with Sulley1234 has really scared me off of trading right now. There was a time when I would send out same time as the other trader, trusting they had done their part, but I ended up waiting for quite a few trades for months, had their insufficient postage costs to pay for, got wrong/expired coupons, so I decided to post on my tradelist that newbies had to send first. Well, that was fine for awhile, but then came the inevitable pressures of not wanting to put other people through a waiting time with coupons that could be close to expiry by the time they got them. So, I started trusting newbies again, and after a few pm's setting up a trade, I'd send out same time as they did.

I've been reading through my trade pm's with Sulley1234 and I can see now how this person manipulated key points of the trade throughout the whole time. And then the clincher to pressure me to send out right before the strike. And afterwards the reassurance of: "I sent yours out on Monday!!!!!" (yes, 5 exclamation marks to emphasize that); then some mumbo-jumbo about many other traders already receiving their envies on time during this time-frame, (lies) then a promise that I'd receive in a day or two (false). Then an unusual pm, asking what happens if somebody doesn't give you a trade rating after they received, and she/he wanted my "expert" advice about the forum rules (in a roundabout way). I should have said: the mods deal with it, and then the RCMP, but I just sent her/him a pm explaining about polite SC conduct waiting for trades, and then pm'ing a mod later on to discuss it if necessary. I got a pm back thanking me for my advice, and after that NOTHING, AND NO ANSWERS TO PM'S.

We were set-up; we were had; by a smooth operator.

Another thing is, I got my Silk FPC's from Silk's internet promo (51 FPC's); my stores don't carry the product any longer, and won't order it though I showed them the letter and the fpc's, so the only way I can use them is if I spend money to hire a bus to go into the city where the stores carry the product. That's why I've had them on my tradelist, but it looks like I've attracted trade-sharks. And since this trade with Sulley, other unknown traders have been pm'ing me wanting those fpc's. But because of the strike and also because of uneasiness about the Sulley-trade, I haven't worked on any more trades ever since. I just feel so taken-advantage-of now that I just don't feel like trading.

im sorry valiant, I had no idea she scammed so many people so quickly. What if I start a newbie trade thread where members can post what newbie they are in a trade with so a newbie cant have 20 on the go at once?

From what I understand, Sulley1234 (and her other user names) can be charged with a criminal offense. I realize that it sounds funny, but it is a type of mail fraud. She is scamming people (including for gc's which is a form of money). I believe she can be charged with theft under $1,000.

It's called 'wire fraud', I think: intentionally defrauding others in relation to dealings of an exchange. Maybe it's actually 2 criminal offenses: mail fraud and wire fraud.

What really bothers me about this is that I have no income for 3 months, am in very poor health, and was depending on those 24 Kellogg's fpc's in that trade. I was going to use them to get cereal at the store, and was planning to pick out boxes with other coupons on them, so I'd be able to stock my fridge with other edibles. Now thanks this trade-scam, I'm back to short shrift for the summer.
If it was all added up as to how much value Sulley1234 got out of all these trades, I think it would be worth many hundreds of dollars. I know that my trade was worth close to $100. When Silk was selling in my stores, I paid $4.89 per carton. That comes to $117.36 for 24 fpc's, but if it sells for less at SDM or Safeway, that would be more like $100 that Sulley1234 cheated me out of.

How much more from the rest of us? And since we are all on this forum to make ends meet by using and sharing coupons, it's just so unfair for some crook to come along and do this to us all.

Each time I've come in here to read what's going on, I've marveled at how I've managed somehow to avoid being scammed. No more. I just realized I have an outstanding trade with sulley1234. I mailed out on June 7 and he/she supposedly did the same. Fortunately it wasn't for a lot but it's really annoying to be taken advantage of.

Or maybe I will get an envie soon. I won't hold my breath but if I do, I will certainly post about it.

I also just realized I have an outstanding trade with sulley1234. I mailed on June 13 and sulley1234 supposedly did the same. I figured it was just delayed becasue of the postal strike. It was not a huge trade but I still don't like being scammed. I have traded with many newbies in the past and never had a problem. I would never do a large trade with a newbie but I have never asked them to send first but looks like I might start doing that. When I was a newbie everyone was great. I was surprised I was never asked to send first. This is a very kind and trusting community. Sad that a few scammers ruin it.

Why does she/he have just 2 negative ratings??? If you are waiting for it to show I hope you are not holding your breath!!LOL!! A negative rating can always be changed if a it does turn up so you should not be waiting IMO.

this is so awful!
I havent done many trades lately just trains, but im kinda glad now.. as bad as it sounds I prefer to trade only with wellknown members..
