Anyone know how to rate a conductor when the train rec'd had 28 expiries totalling over $50 ?
Not even sure what to do with the train itself as I was the first rider and need to send it out but now after removing everything thats expired, the train is super small and there isnt any coupons I want that are still valid.
Thanks!!Zia_Stephie really wants you as my swagbucks referral...PM me and I'll send you the link. Thanks!

When was the train mailed? If it took its sweet time getting there after mailing I wouldn't hold it against the conductor, maybe also ask in that trains thread - the other riders may not want it if there isn't a good size envie of coupons to choose from

I think you have to be REALLY Bad in order to be announced. I have given our 5 ratings ratings in my over 400 trades and 2 in the past month. Those 2 people have been on and one of the previous bad traders is still trading and hosting trains. Karma will come back to them. I just move on.

OK here goes...
I was on a VWT back in early July. I received my envy mid August and 99% of my coupons were expired. The date limit on the coupon exchange was July 31st so yes, most coupons were absolutely worthless.
I've tried contacting the conductor to find out why these were mailed out 6+ wks late but received no answer. I've checked and the conductor has been active since my attempt at contact.
I checked with the other riders to ensure I wasn't the only one receiving late envies from this train and everyone received theirs within a day or two of each other.
I'm not sure what rating to leave. There was no postmark on my envy (of course right?)
Is it fair to leave a negative rating? 10 riders @ 4 coupons each for an average of what... 40$+ per passenger that went down the drain except for the conductor who received everything. .
Please advise

I think a negative rating for conductor is OK and appropriated...
but riders, if they do what conductor ask for that train, don't need negative rating... probably I let no rating or positive rating to riders. You have no control on when conductor will send back the envie, so you can't received a neg feedback for this part.Liberty of one finish where liberty of the other one start

Mercy, have you only sent one PM? I would send another to see if you get a response. Sometimes there are glitches in the system and a PM doesn't get sent properly. I had this happen to one of my PM's, when I PM'ed again to see why they hadn't responsed they said they never got it and I do trust the person.
Hopefully things work out and you find out what happened to the train.

Whenever I trade, I take my envie to the post office and have it weighed for postage. I pay the extra costs for any extra postage required and send out to the trader immediately, usually same day or next day after the trade is agreed on. If there is ever a reason for a delay, I inform the other trader ASAP.
However, I've had a problem quite a few times with trade envelopes that came from SC traders who had not weighed them at the post office, had sent them with insufficient postage, and when they finally got to my town, the post office held them and charged me the extra postage plus a surcharge for the Non-Sufficient Postage envelope. The only way to get the envie was to pay all the extra costs.
This does not seem fair to me.
Sometimes these envies came with extra coupons the trader put in out of generosity, but in the end I was out-of-pocket for the extra expenses I incurred in claiming the overweight envie from Canada Post.
Other times, there were many coupons involved in the coupon trade, and the trader was well aware of the fact that the envie was overweight, but sent it out anyway with only 1 stamp on it. As a result, the envie was delayed in the mail, sometimes it got returned to the sender by Canada Post, sometimes it finally ended up at its destination but was held by CP until the extra charges are paid--by me.
Now we have all sent out large envies, and received large envies. Why doesn't everyone just do what is right and fair, have the envie weighed and pay the correct postage cost of sending out, so there are no more unnecessary delays, unpleasant surprises and extra charges to the unsuspecting trader on the receiving end?
I've come to the decision that I do not want to trade with traders who won't do their part; so if sending out an envie to me with correct postage is a problem for someone, please do not trade with me. I like to be treated with fairness and consideration, as I'm sure they do too.
I cannot afford these extra postage costs.
I do not want to wait for weeks or months to receive an envie which has been delayed by CP for this reason.
I always feel annoyed and ripped-off when I get a NSP envie.
So from now on, I will be giving a negative trade rating to these traders.
On the other hand, I really do appreciate the opportunity to trade with the many honest and wonderful traders on this forum, and hope to do so for a long time to come!

I have never received a NSP envie. I have 2 or 3 times misjudged and had envies returned to me to add postage (usually 2-3 days later)

I've never had that problem either. I sent one envelope that was slightly too thick and it was returned to me about 3 weeks after I mailed it. I had already sent a replacement trade (thankfully, it was just stamps!) with a bonus FPC for the wait - and at that time I had no idea why it was delayed, or even if it was my fault or not. I have a scale at home, though, so I do weigh everything before it goes out. Now I also have a little cardboard slot I slide them through to make sure they're not too thick
I, too, would be pretty annoyed if I had to pay a ransom to get my own mail! May I ask, do you ever tell the trader what happened? Do they offer to make it up to you? How much is the NSP surcharge, anyways? I've never heard of that. All I know is, if someone told me they had to pay a fee to get something I sent them I would be so embarrassed, and an FPC or some stamps for them would be in the mailbox before the next pickup!~ Trade List ~ Let's Trade! ~ Wish List ~

I always take mine to be weighed as SDM is only 5mins max from me....I have once recieved an envie that required me to pay to get it... What I hate even more is paying to get my own packages back because either the recipient has moved and failed to notify me or C.P delivered them to the wrong addy and the kind person who recieved was honest and put it back in the mail as RTS...so in the end I paid to send it and had to pay to get it back and then I message the person here on SC and they totally ignore me !!

I have never had to pay. I had one delivered that said insufficient postage but I think the mailman must have missed it because he just stuck it through my door.
If I dont have time to go to the PO I put the postage I think on and add a stamp just to make sure, I know I am saving myself 57c in time! But then when I do take them to the PO I always overestimate the postage so I am fairly safe doing it that way
Sometimes I think it is just an excuse for some traders though
