The ground beef IMO is as good as the store packaged.
with any meat product, you run an inherent risk of e coli and the like. this is why you cook all meat thoroughly.
there are also accurate studies showing that washing your underwear in a warm/cold cycle with other clothes deposits fecal matter and/or e coli.
just practice common sense is the best approach.
true enough, ground ANYTHING is lips and assholes. but if you look at how the food industry, particularly the meat industry treats the live animals, the carcasses, the packaging and everything else, your gonna find something offish I think. it is sad, but mass production and the world of ultra convenience that we live in, not only needs, but DEMANDS that our food be processed in an inferior way.
our family eats as much wild game meat as possible and otherwise we purchase what is on sale, tube meat and all.if at first you don't succeed, do it the way your wife told you...

OMG it's been resurrected!
I am proud to say I actually saw tubed cow bum at Sobey's. No, I didn't buy it, but I yelled at DH, "Hey look, there's the tubed cow bum I told you about!" to the horror of those around me.

oh no we're starting again!
Made some Ward Family Random Concoction [dont have a name for it.. I just throw things together and most times it works.. this time it was... elbow macaroni, 3 cans of tomatoe soup, onions, beef, 4 cups of grated hard cheese..mmm... messy goodness]the other night with tube meat.. lol it was yummy =)
