    Likely because they have been
    - moved to a mod only area
    - soft deleted
    - are in the moderation queue

I'm getting a little irked by what seems like very regular squashing of discussion on the forums by the mods because somebody disagrees with the OP.

Without naming names or particular threads, people have been told not to post replies if they "don't agree" and that the OP "did not ask for advice". In another thread a person blatantly bragged about (not even in the brag section) doing something that makes all couponers look bad and the mod said that people who were simply offering an opinion on the matter saying that they don't believe it's right were attacking that person and so on and so forth. Forums are for discussion, that's what we're doing.

I don't understand the constant need to make everything huggy-huggy kittens and rainbows around here. If people are misusing coupons or doing something fraudulent/not okay and somebody CALMLY and politely says their piece about it, they basically get told to zip their lips or get banned. People behaving badly hurts us all, and nobody is screaming at anybody about it, just being calm and offering their thoughts, but apparently that's not okay.

Worse still, when somebody makes a comment about something another person has posted, perhaps to shine light on another possibility or POV, and gets told they aren't to be making those comments because the original poster didn't expressly ask for advice... ugh.

It really ruins the great atmosphere the forum members create when we're having mods say that any opinion that isn't hyper-positive is bannable. I've seen multiple comments on other sites from people saying they do not use this site because the (quote) "forced positive atmosphere" reminds them of "a dictatorship".

Please take some time to re-evaluate the rules as they are and see that just because somebody disagrees doesn't mean they're attacking or being rude to another person. It really needs to be on a case-by-case basis and if somebody is really being NASTY, okay, put a cork in that. BUT having an opinion that you can express calmly and coherently shouldn't be a bannable offense. We're perfectly pleasant, supportive and caring to one another on our own. We don't need to be forced to do it with threats of a ban if we don't.

Firstly, it is very rare we ban anyone on SC other than spammers. To do so, mods have to contact Boo and he has to approve the ban.

I personally agree that when a person disagrees that they often are not being nasty, the problem is that others do take it as permission to be nasty. The reps/PMs that accompany these posts are often not as polite - but you don't see it publicly.

As a mod, unless a thread is really out of hand or specifically gets into attacking the member, I don't mod them (and unless it is an attack, I just post to play nicely or something to that effect, and not remove posts). If it is an issue with specific threads, send a PM to Boo and I with links and we can look into it.

personally i don't like that -removed- place but could not resist this:
    http://www.vmh.com/Library/enhance-relationships.pdf

    whenever they are used.

    They are called.....

    RED WORDS.

Red Words are common words, used by each of
us every day, that prevent clear communications
    among ourselves and our friends.

    These words can
    actually
disrupt or derail our everyday conversations.

They are dangerous because people give them VERY
    LITTLE THOUGHT.

Elimination of these words may be awkward at first.

    To
do so requires that you stop, rethink what you wish to
say and then express yourself cl
    early.

    Eliminating Red Words makes your
communications with others valid and trustworthy.

Friends and family know exactly what you mean, and
know you will do what you say.

    However...

    Before we
begin, there are two important principles you
    must keep in mind.

    1)

Partial misunderstanding is the normal and predictable outcome of every attempt at hum,,,,,

i do understand that this dislike between here and there is a tad deep rooted but,,,

ooopppsss notice the places where a word or two should be,,, haha
almost think for fun i should go over there and see how much fun of not this is there

It is very clear here for those who read the threads who is being talked about....I try to stay out of actually modding threads and if I do I try to stay neutral...the reps and private p'ms of feeling attacked/bullied ect as Fallen Pixels also comments ...no regular poster sees all those so there is often more going on than just what is posted.

If I was being sent pms, reps or likes in which some-one was attacking me..then at least one mod and Boo would know about it. Just because they are "private" doesn't mean I won't/can't/shouldn't report them to the apprioate powers that be.

oh...and the ignore system is a wonderful invention..

Yes we often do know about them, but would not mention it in the closing of a post

While I personally do not mind *one* person saying you used a coupon wrong / that one is one per person / whatever other reason - because it may just be the case that the person missed it (I just noticed myself the other day that the $3 J&J are one per person and I know I have used more without realizing because my old ones did not and hey they sent me two so why would it be), but you have to think how it looks to a person when they log on to a whole page of someone telling them why they are wrong and ruining couponing for the rest of us and blah blah

Is there any way to get game room posts to not show up? I hate having to scroll through pages of game room posts on tapatalk.

I get that section is fun but not what I come on SC to see.

    Don't think so

I saved several forums to my faves and use that tab, but you still need to check each forum separately (and it is more annoying on tapatalk as the page updates every time you go back so the game room posts are always at the top because they get so many replies)

What filter are you scrolling through? (e.g. new posts, activity, subscribed etc?) I can't remember the names off by heart as I don't have my iPhone with me. Let me know and I'll see about hacking together a fix for that as I've felt your pain.

I generally scroll through the "ALL" . I go to "Participated" if I'm looking for a thread I know I've posted in before.

Not sure if that helps... Thanks for looking into it!

It is new posts that is the issue for me, I like to see all of the forums to see what is new but the games rooms posts are replied to so often that they take up a lot of screen space
