It makes me sick to think people copy and alter coupons. I hope the person/s who are doing this get caught.

the number and bar code are slightly raised and you can feel it with your finger tips. the fake ones are smooth. also when you hold them up sideways to the light, you can kind of see that the numbers and bar code is raised.
the colour alone is not an indication they were copied. i have gotten them straight from the mail and they looked fake..lol.
use the bar code inspection!if at first you don't succeed, do it the way your wife told you...

As for the actual printable coupons - No one accepts them anywhere in the Brampton area, except on occasion at the WM on Airport. Even then, the cashier has to ask the CSM, and there only seems to be one CSM who says ok. I usually don't even bother trying.[/quote]

Its true, I think there has been a lot of abuse in our area and now everyone is paying for it... I dont blame the stores really!! Its just sad that there are such pathetic people out there

the "code number" left of the upc is actually the identification number. anyone who has an account on save.ca has a unique number assigned to him/her.
if you are getting save.ca coupons from the same person, all her save.ca coupons should have the same code number, whether they're in english or in french.

I find for the most part the save.ca are very well printed and look 'clean' and crisp.
Someone could have different numbers on the coupons if they have some from a trade or they have coupons that are sent to friend or family for them. I know my mom lets me send stuff to her house as well as my own. Just because someone is sending you ones with different numbers doesn't mean they are fake.
I know if I trade for them I would rather see different numbers. If you are ordering them you will only get one of each french and english for each date and unique number. If someone was to send me say 5 of the same date and number I would assume they are fake because they don't come that way.

what is going to happen, is save.ca is going to have to have special paper, with a watermark or somethin similar to the way money is printed. which is sad that people have to try and cheat the system...

There are possibilities that we would get multiples of the same coupon from the same account on one order, though it is rare.
I have an experience that, about 2 month ago, I found a save.ca link have different baby product coupon to order, you can choose up to 3 product, and they have 3 slot which the same coupon (Pampers wipes product, 60 ct or more, save 1$) and I click all the 3 slot with the same coupon. Eventually, they mail to me with 3 coupon on the same sheet in that order.
Just to clarify, there is a real possibility, although not common, but it is always good to be careful.

you are allowed to order 1 english and 1 french with your account, if you order them on the same day they will have the same date, if you order them diff. days they will have diff. dates.
the bar code is raised so if you are unsure just move your finger across it and it should feel bumpy, if it does they are real, if it is smooth they are probably fake

People here starts to point fingers to others when it comes to copied coupons. Have you thought of if people would STOP trading their coupons maybe copied coupons would not be as common??! supply & demand theory!
coupons are made for YOU, and are not transferable! transfered coupons are also consider as a fraudulent action.
so please....think again....people who are making copied coupons ALL BECAUSE OF YOU. demanding for a particular coupon.
i'm not sure if anyone would agree.

This wouldn't be the first time people trying to copy save.ca coupon. When I first joined SC, I distinctively remember some members 'bragging' about how they 'copied' onto the blank save.ca sheet (before they started putting "void" on it) to get extra coupons, especially the high value ones like $10 Olay. As someone who was new to coupon (and very thankful), I was horrified!!!
Now, I am just jaded - there will always be dishonest people who will end up ruining it for everyone else.
This goes back to the 'coupon abuse' thread coming out of SDM franchisees' meeting. Sigh.....

I remember the paper being discussed for use when printing off internet coupons, instead of using regular printer paper... I don't recall people talking about copying the Save.ca coupons themselves though?!
Maybe I'm wrong; here in BC I haven't [yet] had a problem with printable coupons, but I know out East there were a lot more problems... people thought the glossier paper might give the coupon more credibility. Perhaps those in the area might remember more clearly than I.
It's sad to see coupons being copied. I hope the people doing it realise what they're doing is wrong, and stop.

I'm shocked too, some people just don't think. To come on bragging about how they copied save.ca coupons is absolutly wrong and very crazy!. They should have gotten in trouble trying to ruin it for everybody else. If save.ca were smart they would go after those people as it's all traceable. Every post is traceable by IP Address and even if it were 1 year or 3 years ago it all stays on the web archived forever even if it's deleted from the site.
And companies do have employee's who probably frequent these message boards to see what is being said the company.LF: $1 2 2L Pepsi,$1 Sunlight Dish Soap,$ Pampers Diapers,$1 Cars Snacks,$2 Irish Spring ...Please PM me if you have any for trade.

1) they fudge the address a little bit to make it look like distinctive households and have save.ca coupons sent to each of those houses
2) they send save.ca coupons to their friends/family members' houses and pick up at a later date
3) they collect save.ca coupons through trade
