Thread: New Extra Dry pampers
-
Wed, May 5th, 2010, 12:05 AM #1
Just a heads up for moms with new babies, sometimes these new pampers can cause a rash on babies bottom because of the chemical in them to keep them extra dry and if you keep using them it can start blistering so just be careful.

Thanks for the info!! I found out about this from a friend on Facebook and so I watched the video and talk about painful for the little ones.....Pampers is saying that the rash/blisters are not caused by the diapers but I'm not taking any chances. I know some stores still carry the old type so if they go on sale I'm stocking up otherwise I think I will start looking into a different brand for our second daughter. It's a shame because I love Pampers and have been impressed with their diapers and the customer service but I'm not willing to take any chances when it comes to my children.

i've also read the info on facebook by pampers basically they are saying the diaper is highly tested and no new chemicals have been used in the new diaper what wasn't used in the old diaper (but really how is that possible? they say it's a completely new designed diaper BUT it's the same?) i donno thankfully i bought a few boxes of the old when they were going on clearance.. and maybe by the time i'm through we'll be potty training..

wow we had issues with the old cruisers giving ds a rash and are now using the drymax cruisers with no rash problems.the only issue i hav with them is they leak when ds has a large poop. except the last week when his poops have been more solid. (we just introduced yogurt)

looks like this is more of an issue then what pampers is leading us to believe Health canada is now looking into it (along with the FDA in the states!!)

these diapers have been sold in some stores since late 2009, under the old packaging i read
my son has a very sore bottom right now, but i haven't been using pampers, pull ups, and huggies snug and dry (which i hate, meant to get the movers ones)
the only other thing i can think of to make this rash is we used a friends pull up a few days ago... and it was one with the cool alert thing, but the rash is still around, and it looks so painful... its different than the rash he gets when he eats wheat

When the new samples arrived, I tried them and my baby got diaper rash..but i was not sure that that new drymax diapers caused it...coz she is fine when i put on the old cruisers one.....in different occasions, I put on the sample again , and she got diaper rash. Now after reading this forum, I am convinced that it's the drymax diapers caused the rash..blah!!..and I just bought 2 packages from LD!! i am gonna call them to complain now...i want the regular cruisers back!

Health Canada is investigating the new Pampers Dry Max due to 2 complaints for serious rashes.
I am up to my eyeballs in these! I went nuts when they came out and were on sale dirt cheap. I haven't had to open a box yet, but man, I am gonna be one unhappy Pampers Customer if something comes of this.

Seriously!! I have like 4 packages sitting in my closet. If something does come about of it, I hope we get our money back or something.

I wonder if some babies are allergic to something in it. Meaning most will be fine but a couple will have bad reactions! I don't know.
