I went to Rexall Sunday and some of the biore stuff wasn't coming up properly so I asked the manager, he said they didn't participate in SCOP. :/

If found a policy set by retail council of Canada. This states that
On a claim being presented by the customer, where the scanned price of a product at checkout is higher than the price displayed in the store or than advertised by the store, the lower price will be honoured; and
- (a) if the correct price of the product is $10 or less, the retailer will give the product to the customer free of charge; or
(b) if the correct price of the product is higher than $10, the retailer will give the customer a discount of $10 off the corrected price.
- This can be good deal if you find an Item that is marked wrong

This is referred to as the "Scanning (scanners?) Code of Practice", or SCOP, for short. IF the store follows the policy, there will be a notice either near the front of the store, at customer service, or near the tills.
Walmart, SDM & RCSS follow the SCOP for sure, here in BC, but I'm not sure about the other stores...
We LOVE SCOP'd deals ... you'll find a number of them mentioned in the brag section of this forum.
Better to remain silent & be thought a fool than to open your mouth & confirm it.

It's not always like that. I ever went to a 'French connection' store and there were two same style wool coats marked down for $29.99, but when I went to the counter to check out, they told me it's $79.99. I tried to tell them the one I was holding was not the only one with this price, but guess what, the sale person kept telling me there's no way to get a wool coat for just 30 dollars and asked me to check around other stores, which made me feel like I'm an idiot and I don't know the price of wool coats~~~. I got totally upset that day and didn't have the mood for shopping anymore. I will never ever go to that store again~

Superstore follows the SCOP - and they are wrong on their prices quite often!
I've actually made a point of really watching the screen to see the prices as they scan the items through instead of rushing to bag my groceries - otherwise I have gotten home and realized I was overcharged for items and was basically out of luck!
