This very proud man has never been sick until about a month ago when he started losing weight and strength. He has not yet received a diagnosis although many "tests" and "procedures" have been done. He doesn't receive "help" very easily, but maybe good thoughts and prayers can help him to regain his health. He has been sole caregiver for his wife who cannot care for herself and is worried about her welfare more than his own. Thanks in advance for your good wishes!

Update - he has to have at least 2 more procedures done before he'll be ok to go back to the residence. He seems to be inching towards wellness. Thanks for all the good wishes!

Thanks, folks! He is now slated for another blood transfusion (his 5th) and he has a rare type of blood apparently - B- He also has to have a CAT scan - they haven't found a "bleed" yet - he is not eating well - but is determined to "get home". He was moved to a new room because he was no longer considered "surgical" recovery. His surgeon would have sent him home! But his own doctor said -no- we still need to do more tests. Tomorrow his daughter who lives on the other side of the province is coming to stay for a while.

Thanks to everyone who has been adding our step-dad to your thoughts and prayers. Although he has not returned to his "home" - he has left the hospital and is back with his wife in a retirement lodge - they spent the whole afternoon holding hands. - The doctor explained that the problem is probably not that he is losing blood but that he is not producing it properly. Either way, prognosis is not the greatest. His daughter has arrived and he is as comfortable and content as can be expected and he remains very "optimistic." Thanks, again!
