Well, have you ever tried to concentrate with a hungry male screaming in your ear? AFAIC, he timed himself out.

And you're right, if I'm that indifferent to my beloved cat, the males should be afraid.
Of course, the human variety are easier to control with the whip.
Does that mean Santa will be bringing me coal this year? Too bad I don't have a chimney, or I could have some real fun.

i am upset right now, my dh missed my dd christmas concert as he was sick with the flu, my ds concert is tomorrow, his work new and the bosses daughter who works there also has a kid in the concert, so she knew. He swore he wouldnt miss it as our son is singing a solo, which is a big thing for my son. he just phoned and said he was told he has to go out of town tomorrow, no matter what, that no one else would be doing it for him....I am ready to cry, am so upset, we try to put our kidsfirst especially for things like this, Damian will be so upset when i tell him...

A couple of weeks ago I received a two for one blizzard coupon from DQ. I printed it off and took it in to the DQ in the mall (first time I had been to that location). There I was informed by the employees that their manager had informed them they could not accept coupons that had been trimmed, it had to be submitted on the full page. I tried to tell them, that the coupon did not mention that and that I trimmed it to fit in my purse. No go. So I emailed a comment to the store. Didn't hear back, so I emailed a complaint (containing the first letter) to DQ headquarters. Didn't hear back. Yesterday I fired one more off to headquarters saying I had been waiting over 2 weeks to hear a response to my concern and still nothing and that I was upset over a lack of communication. Today (happily) I got this reply. Funny thing is, the local Guelph manager apparently was supposed to have contacted me...nope. Ultimately I am glad to have heard back from someone, finally. A GC will be nice but I sure won't be using it at the mall DQ.
Moral of the story..."either don't cut out your DQ coupons OR be persistant?!?"
"Thank you for contacting International Dairy Queen, Inc. (IDQ) and
following up with us again. I just left you a voicemail message; I would
have loved to connect with you by phone.
I am so very sorry to hear that you have not yet received our letter and
gift card! We sent it out on 12/8/08, and it may yet take a while longer
to reach you from our offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
I cannot explain why you have not yet received a response from the
franchise owner of the Dairy Queen restaurant in Guelph; we did relay your
request for contact. Please know that I am so very sorry for your
disappointment -- this should be a fun experience when you receive our
coupons, not a troublesome one!
I am so glad that you wrote in again to give us an opportunity to respond.
If you have any questions, or would like to discuss this further, you may
reach me by responding to this email."

How bad is that? I cannot imagine how you feel right now but just remember your husband is doing what he can to support the family and although the kids will be really upset right now they will appreciate it one day. I know what you mean about the terrible. Up until this year I spent about a 1 1/2 as a single mom practically my husband was always on the road and I was pregnant with a one year old and working. The week before I was due he was sent to Seattle for a customer meeting and when the woman there found out I was due the following week she sent him home

Sorry for your little fellow - I'm sure he would love for his dad to be there to see him but hopefully you have or can borrow a camcorder from someone and record it and then you can all watch it at home as a family and make a big deal of it (serve treats and all when you watch it) - might make your son feel special

Some people or managers in general are real a$$es and do not care, work comes first regardless to them. When I was a manager I would like to think I was not like that, I always considered holidays and made sure the ones who celebrate xmas would get their time off or a light load that week to enjoy it. Then you wonder why people jump ship so quickly It is not always about money sometimes you need a good employer to make you feel wanted and want to stay there
