Well I wouldn't say I've been that successful with cutting back on computer time yet... I'm still trying though
Cats can OD on catnip, really, or were you joking? I always thought it lost their effectiveness on them after 20 mins or so.
The life coaching sounds really interesting. I'm sure it would be a fun job. I've always thought it would be cool to have my own life coach, but i wont have the extra funds for anything like that for quite a while.
Hope everyones having a great afternoon

How was the play? Was Eric on Corner Gas?
My two long-haired cats had their fur by their butts covered in poo a couple of days ago. I wasn't at the trailer at the time. My mom was with them. Took her forever to clean them. Shadow, my male cat, hissed and growled as she tried to clean him. She actually had to cut a lot of his fur off. He threw up a lot. He was so smelly yesterday. We didn't know what to do with him. It was hard to bath him when he was a kitten. Now he's a 20 pound cat. His paws are almost as big as my hand.He looks like he's part Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest cat.

Well, he's never shown any interest in dried catnip & ignored the fresh when I first brought it in. In the 5 minutes I was gone, he ate about a dozen leaves & the stalks of 2 plants.
After he stopped racing around & banging his head against the wall (1.5 hrs), he crashed & went to bed. He was up half the night with nausea & a sore tummy. Poor baby.
He sounds gorgeous - any pics of him? You can try to desensitize him using food, if he's motivated (try cheese strings). First step - cat goes into an empty tub (put a towel down, so it's not slippery) & gets a bite. When he's happy with this (or at least not freaking out), up the criteria & have a trickle of water flowing to get him used to the sound. Then wet the towel & have him on the towel getting slightly damp. Then wet towel, water flowing & a sprinkle of water on him.
Eventually, you'll get to a point where he'll put up with it, knowing something good is coming. Best to do it before meal times, so they're more inclined to be cooperative if they know dinner's on its way. He might never like it (my wannabe Labrador hates baths with a passion, but jumps happily in the tub for a treat; my cat will tolerate it, but does not like it in the least).
Yes, Eric Peterson was in Corner Gas. The play is Of The Fields Lately, he plays a sort of ne'er-do-well uncle. It's a great production. Probably try to see it again in a few weeks (perks of volunteering & having connections).
Hope everyone's doing well. Took the cat to visit my friend's office (he's on vacation, but the co-workers were happy to see the brat). He's now happily sleeping in his bed.

Ricki good for you for standing up to you family & to your supervisor. Hope it continues to work out for you.
DH & I had a great 4th--went to the lake & he did some fishing--caught 5 catfish, 2 bream, & a sunburn. Glad we finally got to spend some fun time together--he has been working 60-70 hrs. a week since the middle of May.
Star, sounds like you had a feast--we didn't have quite that much, just some pulled BBQ pork, BBQ ribs, potato salad, Paula Deen's grilled corn on the cob (it was reallllllly good), baked beans & homemade peach cobbler.
Hope everyone had a great day!!
Thanks for all the new words--I will never get caught up!!!!Last edited by Jettred; Sat, Jul 4th, 2009 at 09:41 PM.
