maybe a bank account should be opened just for donations from whoever can afford to help lolcat out? i'm sure every little bit would help.

I went to my doctor's appointment today, and they are concerned about me because it seems the baby is quite large. So they are moving up my due date to August 10th, and he said if I have not had her by this coming Thursday he is going to induce me. Their main concern is my legs, since I haven't had much sensation in my feet due to swelling in at least a week.

You're welcome to my cashback too. I don't have paypal or such, but I could try to dig up some money (would $20 help?) & send you a MC or VISA gc somehow (still new ot shopping online).

Not sure if you've tried contacting a local church (not sure of your religion, but most churches try to help, regardless of denomination, especially the Christian ones - my friend's Menonite & I know her church has helped folks).

I can't think of anything else right now. Hang in there, it will all work out.

Andit, you are such a lovely person, I could just eat you up. (Can you tell we were reading Where the Wild things are at bedtime?) Seriously though, you have also lead me to the path of more than a few people who made me know our government isn't just run by people that don't care. They all tried, even if they had no influence, they totally tried on my behalf. And you rock for even offering me a penny of your own money, just like more than one person on here has done.

I did contact a few women's groups here in London as well as provincially, but they all stated up front that they don't help in straight financial ways, just if you need certain "neccessities of life". Our church, as well as a few others in our area that I contacted, all let me know that they aren't really doing well enough to give funds to any more people, since lots of people have needed help in the area recently.

I contacted the media, all the ones you had thought of, but though they all seemed nice, no one seemed that interested in my story.

Irene Mathyssen and Glen Pearson are my main government contacts, they both tried so hard to help me, but they don't have much influence over things.

It is indeed the federal government who have stepped in on behalf of the hospital, because there are several rules that have to be abided by when you are waiting for permanent residency. One of them states generally that you cannot rack up debt without the ability to repay, and it states quite clearly that it is a big no-no to owe money to the government (Which = hospital, even according to my fancy lawyer). The one really rude guy I spoke to a few days ago asked me "Why didn't you just go to a hospital in the states" to which I replied "Because you guys told me I can't go into the states until my permanent residency goes through"... he didn't have an answer for that one.

The newcomers club HAS been a bit helpful for info, but most of what they gave me, YOU gave me too Their rules can't let them help me in any way except information, but they are so kind.

Again, I have to state that you are awesome, and just seeing how much effort you have put into trying to find me some help makes me tear up. My husband laughs and says how much he likes you all the time, mostly because I've mentioned your name like a million times.

Lolcat, just thought of something else (actually thought of it in the middle of the night but was too lazy to get up ). Can your DH's employer help? Could they advance him the money or work out something to help him get a loan? What about his coworkers?

I know when I left one job (boss was a twit ) to go to another job, my coworkers (about 8 people) gave me a gc for $100 as a going away present (they liked me better than my boss ).

As an absolute last resort, go to any church and claim asylum. Tell them you're trying to escape their evil banking system (the nitwit insurance company is part of that mess, no doubt).

Great idea! The only problem is, DH just started at this place about halfway through the year, and he doesn't really know many people. They are all very nice, but they sure haven't seemed open to helping him in any way. His old job would have probably at least tried to help (The co-workers, that is) but they closed his old unit

BLESS YOUR HEART TOO. I cannot believe how awesome all of you are!! It just goes to show, you can have a hundred friends in real life (which I totally don't, lol) but you always know who your true friends are. If I didn't have you guys to talk to, and to make me feel like a million bucks when I just want to cry, I would go insane.

hmm ok so question...I dyed my hair sunday night with perfect 10 light auburn which is almost exactly the colour they did in TO...and THIS dye is washing out too! Its been 4 days since I dyed it and the colour is still coming out on my hair towel every time I get out of the shower and I know its new dye because I have been using a different towel every night (old ones of course) and then washing them right away to get the dye out so it doesnt stain as bad since most of the towels are white!
The first day I showered and it came out I thought I just didnt rinse it well enough but nope still coming out fourth wash was tonight and its coming out just about the same as the other two nights...and when I wash my hair you can smell the dye too idk if thats normal either...and I dont wash my hair with hot water or anything just luke warm especially now that its summer so I dont take hot showers like I do in the winter.
The salon dye job did this too and we thought it was either because it had never been dyed before or wasnt permanent...so idk what is going on if my hair isnt taking the dye or what does anyone know?! my mom has been doing her hair forever and said hers never did this even when she used a reddish shade so I am thinking it may just be my hair but guess I wait and see what this colour does and how fast it fades maybe I will have to go with henna?

Rose--I've been coloring my hair for years & have never had that problem. Sounds like your hair just doesn't want to be colored.

Rose - I can't dye my hair either. Mine does the same thing. I found that when I used the Perfect10 it did it the worst on me.

lolcat - I wish I could help in some way. DH and I are just barely getting by on the skin of our teeth right now. None of us want to see you go. Will they honestly make you go if you have a new baby and everything too?!? I can't believe that . And, it's great that you're going to have that baby soon. I wish I was in the same boat. Then I could breathe again!!
