Yay!!! The work week is finally over and now a long weekend. Have a happy thanksgiving all Canadians and a wonderful weekend all Americans. You are stuck with me for the entire weekend now. No Thanksgiving plans at all. My son is off to his dad's tomorrow and my family decided not to do anything this year. I plan on hiding out at home. I have a glorious smelling bath bomb from LUSH I plan on using, some new nail polish, my book and a few movies to catch up on. Oh ya, I have tons of sleep to catch up on as well. I am so looking forward to this long weekend.

in-laws on both sides and you also have your own family. Sometimes
it's just nice to be able to spend it the way you want it without others
throwing a hissy fit. Do what makes "YOU" happy and they'll just have

Haunish, I am right there with you on the in-laws. My husbands family are a bunch of FREAKS, and any interaction we have with them is always so crazy.. Nasty emails, chain phone calls that end up with people driving to each other's houses and screaming at each other.

I vote that you just finally tell them off. They've been giving you stress for 11 years? Give them 11 years worth of venting!

I am so upset right now, I thought everything was dealt with with in-laws about Thanksgiving, only to come home from getting groceries to some nasty emails from everyone. That we are selfish about wanting to spend it by ourselves, etc., etc. I phoned my dh and couldnt even talk I was crying to much..he is so upset.
I dont get why it is such a bad thing to want to do this, he is always working and going to be gone and he just wants to spend it with the kids before he leaves...i hate holidays

you need to do what is right for your family, meaning you, your husband and especially your children. People seem to expect others to run all over the place to accomodate them and forget holidays are about the great memories we give to our children
